September Third Thursday Local Artist Feature: Ophelia Bennett

Meet Ophelia Bennett

Ophelia is an artist who specializes in dice and resin art. She would describe herself as a somewhat eclectic witch who loves stories, shiny things, and D&D. She spends her free time playing games and exploring small shops around the area with friends or her brother.

You can find more of Ophelia's work here or for sale in our store! She is currently accepting commissions through Instagram, or via email at flynfiresfantasticaldiceforge@gmail.com.

How did you get into art?

I got into resin and the dice specifically because I couldn’t find dice that fit the aesthetic for my characters and I really wanted dice to match the characters. After that I found I had a bit of a knack for it.

Who are your inspirations?

My pieces are heavily inspired by mythology and fantasy fiction books such as those written by Holly Black and Sara J Maas.

What would you call your art style?

I would describe the style of my ready-made pieces as fae-like.

What medium do you prefer?

I prefer resin but I dabble in a bit of everything (not very well).

What your favorite piece of art you've done?

My favorite piece I’ve done so far is a toss up between a set I made for my satyr hag with a blue and purple swirl and a set I made for my Paladin that has crowns floating in clear resin with gold foil flakes.

Do you have a place that inspires you?

I tend to gain inspiration from places like small book stores and coffee shops, places with a lot of character and a good dash of chaos.

Do you have a favorite art museum?

I don’t like to toot my city’s own horn but the Nelson Atkins has always been my favorite art museum.

Anything else you would like to add?

I try to keep a good variety to my pieces and get new molds all the time with different font styles, so chances are I’ll have a style to suit anyone!

And of course, what is your favorite color?

My favorite color is emerald green.
