Coming up on Channel A is a new program for fans of anime and manga, ready-made for party gaming!

Recently run through the distributor system following a successful Kickstarter run, Channel A is another in a long line of Apples to Apples style party games.  In the case of Channel A, players are selecting multiple cards, each with a uniquely anime-esque words, and using them to pitch a new anime show to the rest of the group.  Votes are taken and points are assigned based on majority.

If there’s a cult following bigger than fans of zombie stuff, it’s fans of Cthulhu stuff.

From the makers of Zombies!!!, the highly popular zombie outbreak survival game, comes Cthulhu!!!:  Hastur La Vista Baby!  Similar to Zombies!!!, players control hardened Elder God exterminators attempting to halt the return of an creature from beyond by sanctifying ritual sites.  However, the threat of insanity looms large over everyone thrust into the middle of this horrific setting.  Can you hold out?

Flash Point is jumping in the drink with its newest set of expansion boards, Dangerous Waters.

In this expansion are two double-sided game boards with representations of a submarine and a sunken ship, offering an entirely original environment for players to experience.  Any safety provided by the above-ground buildings of all the previous sets is now out-the-window, so to speak, raising the stakes in this popular cooperative game.

Newly arrived and quickly disappearing from the shelves is Magic the Gathering‘s most recent Duel Deck, Jace vs. Vraska.

Hotly anticipated, this duel deck retails for $19.99, but contains cards with values which far exceed the price.  As well, these duel deck sets are always perfect introductory products for new Magic players, giving them a fully built deck to play as well as one to give an opponent.

A supplement to the Chaos Space Marine’s Codex, the recently released Crimson Slaughter Codex provides information about unique artifacts and options for your existing Chaos Space Marines army.  As well, it provides a unique story that’s never before been told in the Warhammer 40K materials.

Legend of the Five Rings makes a major comeback this weekend with the launch of a freshly designed base set, the Ivory Edition, anchored by four new booster pack releases and a set of nine starter decks.  The classic nine clans are represented, including crab, scorpion, crane, and all the rest.

Somebody really needs to Asmadi Games to start play testing these games they’re releasing.

In the mean time, here’s another We Didn’t Playtest This edition, this time known as We Didn’t Playtest This Pasted-On Theme at All!  Adding another batch of original cards, this expansion also includes stick-on (paste not included) themes like zombie, pirate, elves, and more.  Not only do these themes make each card snazzier than before, they also change the endgame scenario.

While we’re on the topic of expansions, the popular education series, Timeline, gains another themed expansion this weekend.  Timeline: Music & Cinema plays just like the previous versions of the game with players attempting to lay cards from their hand in chronological order without seeing the dates.  In this specific expansion, all the cards relate to major moments or works in the music and film industries.

A loving homage to classic Dungeons & Dragons, Luke Crane’s Torchbearer RPG HC is all dungeon crawling all the time.

Building off of the Burning Wheel and Mouse Guard roleplaying systems, Torchbearer deals in deep, dank dungeons, heroic adventurers, and a hunt for glory.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Wall-Crawler has finally swing his way into the Legendary deck-building game, and he’s brought along friends.  Another mini-expansion for Marvel‘s successful DBG, Paint the Town Red (trust us, the contents are better than the title) includes cards for the Black Symbiote Spider-Man, Moon Knight, Black Cat, Scarlet Spider, and Spider-Woman as well as Mastermind cards for Carnage and Mysterio.

One thing you may not know about Samurai, and a point that was certainly left out of 47 Ronin, is that they like their liquor.

Sake and Samurai plays off of this fact, pitting opponents against each other in a booze fueled conflict, where the most drunk Samurai gains the big prize.  But be mindful of the sake’s effects, as each drink will eliminate your ability to use certain special skills.  Drinks, also, however, offer special abilities in return, so each player must strategically choose when and what to drink in order to best reach that perfect state of zen buzz.

Castle Panic was ready made for the addition of zombies, so it’s a little shocking its taken Fireside Games this long to take advantage of that fact, but its finally happened.

Dead Panic takes advantage of Castle Panic‘s castle defense mechanics and applies them to a zombie apocalypse scenario.  Zombies will randomly be rolled up to appear in the various regions of the game board, offering increasingly difficult obstacles for the players to overcome while holed up in the central mansion.

The suburbs continue to encroach upon the city thanks to Suburbia, Inc., the first expansion for the popular Suburbia board game.  This expansion adds a range of new buildings, a further reaching boarder ability, and a handful of exciting new bonuses.

Much like Sims for the boarding game and steampunk crowd, Steam Park combines each of these elements in the most appealing way possible.

Players compete as amusement park architects in a world of gears and levers, literally constructing their own parks from tiles and pieces included in the game.  Carefully balance the amount of rides, bathrooms, and food carts within your park for the most lucrative results.  And if you have younger players joining in, the game will scale to accommodate younger or less experienced players.

It’s been a long wait, but the hordes are here!

The overdue Tyranids Codex, complete with updated rules and stats, ships today, along with a range of new and repackaged models.  The latter include the Harpy, the Tyranid Swarm, a set of psychic power cards, and more.

A classic Warhammer game is once again re-envisioned by Fantasy Flight Games with their relaunched Warhammer:  Diskwars.  A war game at heart, Diskwars utilizes a unique mechanic wherein each army and regiment is represented by a disk.  These disks get flipped across the game board, as players attempt to land them on top of their opponent’s disks in order to take out portions of their armies.

Skull has gone through many editions throughout its existence, but the Silver version dropping this weekend is the purest version hits shelves.  This edition features the same fabulous bluffing mechanics of the classic version (wherein players take turns laying down cards, bluffing how many of a particular suit they have, then having to play them when called on it) but with redesigned artwork and an accompanying playmat.

Place your bets, place your bets!  The mythical battle is about to begin!

Cheaty Mages puts you smack dab in the middle of an arena battle of mythic proportion, pitting imaginary creatures against one another.  Players, controlling sneaky mages, place bets on who will win the fight.  But beware, as mages, you can influence the outcome in your favor.

Purple Brain games continues its Tales & Games line with Baba Yaga.  Including a complete story to read to the kiddies, Baba Yaga is a excellent family game of observation, wherein players play simultaneously in an effort to collect ingredients to an anti-witch spell.  Also, to better serve kids of all ages, the game scales up based on age.

The Titanium Wars have begun!

A diplomacy game of the farthest reaches, Titanium Wars, from the creators of King of Tokyo, involves players taking control of galactic generals and conquering planets for money.  Once these planets have been colonized, players then populate them with factories and bases in order to grow their fleet and earn more money.

A galaxy far, far away gets closer and closer with another supplemental book for the Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG with Enter the Unknown.  A hardcover supplement, Enter the Unknown focuses on Explorer characters expanding their motivations, obligations, species, and specializations whiles supplying new equipment, ships, and signature abilities.

Zombicide becomes Zombiciting this weekend with a boat load of expansions and supplements!

Zombicide Prison Break is an entirely stand-alone expansion, which can be combined with the original game or other expansions if you please.  Zombicide Toxic City Mall, however, is exclusively an expansion for either Prison Break or the base game, containing four new survivors, their Zombivor versions, and six Zombivor versions for the original game.  Extra zombie packs of all shapes, sizes, and varieties also dropped today, including Toxic Crowd, Zombie Dogz, Angry Zombies, and Walk of the Dead 2.

Who you gonna call?

Well, in the case of The Phantom Society, the ghosts.

The Phantom Society is a fresh take on the haunted house game from Asterion Press.  Playable from two to four players, the game gives you the option of controlling the ghosts or the ghost hunters, both trapped in an aging hotel.  The former group is hellbent on causing destruction and haunting the guests, while the latter what to get famous by trapping some poltergeists.  Just don’t play it with the lights off…cause, you know, it’d be hard to see.

In Trains, the new edition designed by Hisashi Hayashi, players start with a small set of cards, but by building a more effective deck throughout the game, they will be able to place stations and lay rails over the maps of Osaka or Tokyo.  Gain enough points from your railways and you will ultimately manage the most powerful railroads in modern Japan.

Zombies!!! 12:  Zombie Zoo not only adds a new challenge to the Zombies!!! universe, in the form of a zoo challenge, but also six new types of zombies, including lions, tigers, polar bears, hyenas, monkeys, and gorillas.  Each of these undead animals will come between you and your goals, so work quickly!

Survive the Battle of Helm’s Deep!

The Lord of the Rings:  The Two Towers deck-building game expansion allows players to continue playing through the popular film franchise in card form.  This expansion introduces special cards that are automatically given to the starting hands of each Fellowship member, as well as card combos and a Wall of Helm’s Deep gaming scenario that adds a new layer to the gameplay.

Control the rise of six new civilizations in Civilization:  Wisdom and Warfare!

The fates of the Aztecs, English, French, Japanese, Mongols, and Zulu lie within your grasp.  Social policy cards give governments greater depth and power, while a new combat system makes battles more tactical and tense than ever before.  This expansion also adds new map tiles, new relics, and a new type of building.

The Heroes vs. Monsters Duel Deck contains ten rare cards and two mythic card, including Figure of Destiny, Sun Titan, and Deus of Calamity, as well as a preview card of Polukranos, World Eater, a mythic rare from Theros.  As usual, each of these decks is fully built and ready to play out of the box, a perfect set to learn on if you’re a new player!

With the Veterans of the Seas, the newest Tsuro expansion, you’ll be able to add more excitement to your game with the Tsunami and Uzushio (whirl pool) tiles.  However, this tile set also provides you with hope in the form of Cannons and the Mystic Portal may help you to overcome the devastation and be victorious!

Fire up your hyperdrive and embark on a journey to the farthest regions of the Star Wars galaxy.  Intrepid explorers, scrappy smugglers, and adventuresome academics must harness every skill in their arsenal to evade Imperial forces, thwart their competition, and finally explore – and survive – an uncharted world.  This full length adventure includes all-new adversaries, vehicles, and location ready for play in the Edge of the Empire RPG.
