One thing you may not know about Samurai, and a point that was certainly left out of 47 Ronin, is that they like their liquor.

Sake and Samurai plays off of this fact, pitting opponents against each other in a booze fueled conflict, where the most drunk Samurai gains the big prize.  But be mindful of the sake’s effects, as each drink will eliminate your ability to use certain special skills.  Drinks, also, however, offer special abilities in return, so each player must strategically choose when and what to drink in order to best reach that perfect state of zen buzz.

Castle Panic was ready made for the addition of zombies, so it’s a little shocking its taken Fireside Games this long to take advantage of that fact, but its finally happened.

Dead Panic takes advantage of Castle Panic‘s castle defense mechanics and applies them to a zombie apocalypse scenario.  Zombies will randomly be rolled up to appear in the various regions of the game board, offering increasingly difficult obstacles for the players to overcome while holed up in the central mansion.

The suburbs continue to encroach upon the city thanks to Suburbia, Inc., the first expansion for the popular Suburbia board game.  This expansion adds a range of new buildings, a further reaching boarder ability, and a handful of exciting new bonuses.

Much like Sims for the boarding game and steampunk crowd, Steam Park combines each of these elements in the most appealing way possible.

Players compete as amusement park architects in a world of gears and levers, literally constructing their own parks from tiles and pieces included in the game.  Carefully balance the amount of rides, bathrooms, and food carts within your park for the most lucrative results.  And if you have younger players joining in, the game will scale to accommodate younger or less experienced players.

It’s been a long wait, but the hordes are here!

The overdue Tyranids Codex, complete with updated rules and stats, ships today, along with a range of new and repackaged models.  The latter include the Harpy, the Tyranid Swarm, a set of psychic power cards, and more.

A classic Warhammer game is once again re-envisioned by Fantasy Flight Games with their relaunched Warhammer:  Diskwars.  A war game at heart, Diskwars utilizes a unique mechanic wherein each army and regiment is represented by a disk.  These disks get flipped across the game board, as players attempt to land them on top of their opponent’s disks in order to take out portions of their armies.

To crush your enemies, see dem driven before you, and to hear de lamentation of der women.

Saying more isn’t really necessary, but if you’re completely out of the loop, Munchkin Conan is the newest stand-alone Munchkin game. Earlier last year you may have picked up the special Conan booster pack for the game, but now you can have an entire, separate camel punching Munchkin experience.

There’s been a lot of printing on demand lately in the Fantasy Flight neck of the woods. And we’ve been picking up what they’ve been putting down. With a blend of some restock and some brand new, here’s the most recent Fantasy Flight POD packs we’ve received.

From Wizards of the Coast, makers of Magic the Gathering, is a new Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh style, deck-based card game. Kaijudo parallels its cartoon predecessor by allowing players to find a the creature companion that best fits their personality and style of play. The Kaijudo Tatsurion vs. Razorkinder set Pulp has in stock contains all the essentials to get started in the game, including playmats and two 40 card decks.

Lets get to the main event here, folks. You’ve all been waiting for it, you’ve all been awaiting the arrival date, but wait no more! As of midnight June 30th, the new Warhammer 40K 6th edition rulebook will go on sale! And, yes, Pulp will be open to those adventurous enough to come snag a copy.

Because we enjoy torturing our customers here at Pulp Fiction, allow me to wave some slick Warhammer 40K miniatures in front of your face then inform you they won’t be on sale until tomorrow.

Yeah, sorry about that.

However, if you are swinging by tomorrow you should look into the new Space Wolves and Necron miniatures for 40K. These include a Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf, Fenrisian Wolf Pack, the Thunderwolf Cavalry, and the new Tyranid Tyrannofex/Tervigon.

Showing its Dungeons & Dragons roots, Thunderstone Advance goes on sale today. Some folks out there may find that surprising to hear because the game isn’t officially scheduled for release until later in the month, but Pulp is allowed to sell the game early as a pre-release benefit. This redesign of the game refines many of the previous version’s elements. Mostly, the game works overtime to give players as many options to tailor their experience as they please. A new two-sided board lets players select the level of difficulty they wish to play as do the new monster card levels. If you’ve never gotten into the game before, but are a fan of D&D and/or Dominion, this is the time to start playing.

Triple the Dominion, triple the fun.

Following in the footsteps of Alhambra and CarcassonneDominion now has its own Big Box edition coming packed with three versions of the now classic deck building game. Those three versions, by the way, are AlchemyProsperity, and the original, base Dominion game. If you’ve never gotten into this hit card game, this is a great way to purchase three of excellent versions of the game for a cheaper price.

Today we also received a restock on some Indy RPGs that need a little love and affection. First up is Umlaut: Game of Metal, a storytelling, GM-less game akin to Fiasco where players create their own heavy metal groups then chart their rise to the top of the heap. On the darker side of things are Hot War and Cold City. Hot War is set after an apocalyptic Cold War-era nuclear barrage, giving gamers a setting of horrific violence and power-jockeying survivors to explore. Cold City is a companion volume set in Berlin after the terrors of WWII. Players command the Reserve Police Agency as they round up monstrous creatures risen from the ashes of the war.
