Con Man SpectrumCon Man’s Spectrum #1

-Aching for a Firefly reunion?  Con Man’s Spectrum may be the closest we get for awhile.

-Based off of the fan favorite webseries, this ongoing comic delves into the show-within-the-show.

-Not only does the series follow the characters played by Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk, but it is also co-written by Tudyk, himself.

-Depicting episodes of the show-within-the-show, Spectrum, this series sees Fillion and Tudyk’s characters outrunning an alien race in an untested spaceship.

Hillbilly #1Hillbilly

-Eric Powell, the creator of The Goon and Big Man Plans, is back with a new ongoing series!

-This series will also see a crossover with one of Powell’s other popular characters, Buzzard!

-Following a mountainous fur trapper who lives among the Appalachian mountains, Hillbilly finds him battling and mingling with the fantasy creatures who reside in the forest.  Including a feral dog-boy!

-If you think The Goon is crazy, just see what sort of debauchery Powell can unleash writing and illustrating under his own imprint!

DC Superhero Girls v.1 tpbDC Superhero Girls v.1 tpb “Finals Crisis”

-The first in a series of all-ages graphic novels for female readers!

-DC has heard the outcry for action figures and content that appeals and connects with women.

-All of your favorite DC heroines, like Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Poison Ivy, are just trying to make it through superhero high school when a mysterious villain gets in their way.

-Yancy Labat’s art style is cartoonish and colorful in the same vein as Bee and Puppycat, Lumberjanes, and Adventure Time!

Vision v.1 tpbVision v.1 tpb

-We’ve been telling everyone to read this comic for months!  Now is the time to jump on!

-Slowly building a name for himself, Tom King received the Batman writing gig based off of the critical acclaim of this series.

-Combines qualities from The Stepford Wives, Desperate Housewives, David Lynch, and various horror films into one surreal, twisted package.

-After being rebooted, Vision has built himself an android family (a wife and two children) and moved to the suburbs of Washington, D.C.  With the neighborhood distrusting the “robots” who’ve moved in and The Avengers skeptical of Vision’s choices, an unfriendly foe comes knocking.  Things will never be the same.

Spider-Woman v.1 tpb “Baby Talk”Spider-Woman v.1 tpb Baby Talk

-We know you’ve heard about it online.  We know you’ve heard about it on the Longest Shortest Time podcast.  We know you’ve heard about it from us.  Spider-Woman v.1 is the pregnancy arc, and it’s wonderful!

-Written by Pulp’s own, Dennis Hopeless, following up his previous, acclaimed run on Spider-Woman.

-Having recently welcomed twins into the world with his wife, Dennis pours his heart-and-soul into this personal arc, as Jessica Drew has to fight her way out of a hostage situation as she goes into labor.

-I have read Dennis’ work since he started getting it published.  I can honestly say that Spider-Woman #5, that is collected in this trade, is the work of his career, combining humor, action, and personal influences flawlessly.
