World's Fair 1893Gather ’round, gather ’round!  Come win tickets to the spectacular World’s Fair of 1893!  Okay, you don’t need an actual ticket to purchase the game, but if you’re playing it you will want to go ticket happy.  A forty minute play experience for two to four players, World’s Fair 1893 has players collecting stacks cards from different regions of the game board.  Each region correlates with a different exhibition, so choose wisely and make sure you don’t pollute your hand.Abyss Kraken

When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you.  That’s the conceit of the first expansion for Asmodee‘s Abyss, Kraken!  Intended to be added to the base game, this expansion contains a new rule book, over forty new cards and tokens, and adds black pearls to the game.  These black pearls come with a strategic decision:  do you corrupt yourself for greater power or stay pure to avoid possible destruction.  Beware, though, if you choose not take the Onitamablack pearls from the Kraken, your opponents may not be as cautious.

One of the Dice Tower Essential games, Onitama acts as a variant form of chess for head-to-head play.  In the game, players have a miniature playmat, featuring a 5×5 grid.  They also have five pawns that are moved by a variety of cards.  On each turn, players use a card to move a pawn, discard that card, then draw another one from a community discard pile.  Thus, players will be sharing movement cards.  The goal is to move your pawn onto the same space as an opponent in order to conquer that space and eliminate that pawn. The Little Prince Rising to the Stars

Even though the film’s release was delayed, Asmodee has produced a board game for The Little Prince, based off of the popular children’s book.  The Little Prince:  Rising to the Stars is a simple family gaming experience for two to six players that relies on various racing elements.  Players control planes that are charting a course to the planet of the Little Prince.  Using movement cards, players jockey for prime position on the gameboard in order to make it to the planet first, but also to collect Star Trek Five Year Missionstars and more movement cards.

You’ve beamed aboard, hopefully not wearing a red shirt, and now you and your crew mates have to solve the worst problems of the universe.  Star Trek:  Five-Year Mission is a cooperative experience for three to seven players set in either the original Star Trek or Next Generation time periods.  Each player receives a crew member role, with its own unique abilities, then must work together to solve various threats that arise.  Finding solutions gains the whole crew points, leading to victory, but if any crew member parishes, everyone loses.Krosmaster Quest

Building on the world of Krosmaster, Krosmaster Quest is a tactical adventure game that expands not only on the world, but the mechanics.  For two to six players, Krosmaster Quest uses a modular game board to expand the play space of the game, but still uses chibi-style figurines (including two exclusive figures only found here) in the gameplay.  Players travel around the world of the gameboard, vanquishing monsters, acquiring treasures, and allying with others to increase their power.  Even though Krosmaster Quest is a Histriostand-alone experience, figures and other components from previous Krosmaster games can be combined with it.

The show must go on in the Histrio board game!  For two to five players, Histrio is all about assembling the best cast for your play.  Each player represents a touring troupe of performers on the cusp of presenting a new play in front of the kings of various realms.  You will need to recruit actors for your play, but make sure to balance tragedy and comedy in order to provide the fullest experience.  Your casting will result in better financial return and the respect of the kingdom!Back to the Future board game

Building off of the popular films, IDW‘s Back to the Future board game does not have to reach 88mph to be fun!  Using elements of the Chrononauts game, Back to the Future requires players to competitively transport Doc Brown and Marty through three time periods in order to maintain the proper timeline.  Whoever repairs time the quickest, gets to joyride TIME Stories Under the Maskin the DeLorean whenever they wish!

The growing popularity of the fluctuating storytelling adventure game series, T.I.M.E. Stories, means more expansions.  Like the previous expansions for the game, Under the Mask, adds new cards and environments to progress the stories of the various adventurers participating in the game.  Under the Mask sends the participants far back in time the age of the pharaoh’s in order to uncover an ancient secret.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their significant others!

All of this can occur in Ragnarok:  Fate of the Norns.  This Kickstarter funded roleplaying game is set in a Viking realm, deep and rich with epic grandeur of Norse mythology.  Made for two to eight players, Ragnarok relies not on dice rolls, but special rune icons (included with the game).

The far-flung future of the Numenera RPG gains its second supplemental book for the game, The Devil’s Spine.  Containing a set of linked adventures, Devil’s Spine can be used to supply singular adventures for the system or the beginnings of a full-on campaign.

Warmachine’s Iron Kingdoms roleplaying system gains a fancy, metal token set this weekend.  The set contains focus, spell, feat, cripple, fire, and many more tokens, all of which are dry-erase compatible, allowing you to mark on them without permanent effect.

Warp speed has been engaged on the Redshirts Deluxe Edition.  Which means someone is going to be beaten to death by a gorn.

This special edition of the game comes complete with entirely new, remastered artwork as well as the To Boldly Go expansion.  For those unfamiliar with the game, each player takes on the role of a starship captain attempting to eliminate all of their own redshirts before any other player can.

The Halloween season is upon us and that includes the King of Tokyo.

If you’ve ever thought that what the hit deception game, Bang!, was missing is vampires, Blood Bound is the game for you!

Though the company missed out on a huge opportunity to name the game Fang!, Blood Bound is still an awesome group experience where players attempt to figure out who is a vampire and who is a human (among other designations).

Adding more treasures to its booby trapped vault, Fortune and Glory:  The Cliffhanger Game gains an expansion in Rise of the Crimson Hand.  This expansion adds cards to the game decks, detailed villain miniatures, epic city events, and dangers like never before, including the new “deadly tests” option.  Inspired by pulpy adventurers and Indiana Jones, Fortune and Glory is for fans of classic adventure stories.

The Mage Knight board game adds a new ultra baddie in the form of Krang.  Krang is a Orc Chaos Shaman, who is a completely playable character coming complete with a miniature, tokens, and cards.

The second Numenera related game to appear tonight, Thunderstone: Numenera is an entirely stand-alone version of the Thunderstone Advanced system, but set in the world of Numenera, an Earth a billion years in the future.

Family drama increases in Gloom:  Unquiet Dead.

In the game of darkly humored fratricide, players compete to kill their family members in the most horrific ways.  Unquiet Dead adds stories (a new way to kill family members), undead (abilities that let your family become fantastic creatures like werewolves and vampires), and timing symbols (a new feature that effects when actions take place).

Famed game designer Martin Wallace delivers yet another game set in the Discworld of Terry Pratchett.  The Witches:  A Discworld Game has players taking on the roles of trainee witches in either solo, cooperative, or competitive gameplay modes.

Finally, two of the most popular fantasy gaming franchises come together for a singular gaming experience!

Yes, folks, Munchkin Pathfinder is here!

These play levels, set-up as easy, medium, and hard, are a board game version, a family game version, and a party game version of base play. So, you can get into the game however you choose, then work up to a higher level of difficulty as you go along.

Expanding upon the base Ghost Stories board game, the new Black Secret version of the game increases the terror of the original game by kicking the number of players up to 2-5. And that extra player gets to control the villain of the game, Wu-Feng. The other players must face off against his ghost armies and spells, but have magical mantras, which increase by with the level of play, to protect them. If you’re into the original game or Last Night on Earth, give the new Ghost Stories: Black Secret at try.

Tonight’s going to begin with a bit of List-o-Mania (Any Phoenix fans out there?). There’s such an abundance of new, exciting comics coming out this Wednesday that we’ve had to condense them into a easily digestible list.

-Age of Apocalypse: Building on the Uncanny X-Force story from last year, this new ongoing will follow the continued resistance against Apocalypse and his Weapon X goons in this beloved alternate Marvel reality.
-Beyond the Fringe: Collecting new short stories which take place in the universe of popular television show Fringe, this new miniseries will be written by series regular Joshua Jackson.
-Fairest: Focusing on key female characters from the Fables universe, this new series will chronicle their lost adventures. And it’s written by Fables writer and creator, Bill Willingham.
-Hell Yeah: Award winner, Joe Keatinge, pens a violent, edgy take on the superhero world. The spawn of the world’s first super people are working overtime to maintain the world their parents left behind.
-The Manhattan Projects: Johnathon Hickman (Nightly News, Fantastic Four, Secret Warriors) releases his newest Indy series. The minds behind the atomic bomb may have cooked up something even worse…and we’re going to find out what.
-Superbia: Combining romance and superhero books, this four issue miniseries reads like the Desperate Housewives of the cape & cowl sect, focusing on the significant others of the world’s most famous heroes.
