Cross Hares Testing GroundAction, adventure, and. . .bunnies?  Yup, Cross Hares: Testing Grounds is out this weekend and it drops players into a fantasy world wherein they control their very own badass bunny.  The goal of the game is simple:  move your rabbit down a path (using dice rolls) that leads to an evil factory they must defeat.  Along the way, players will fight off baddies, collect actions and abilities, and mess with their opponents.  The coolest part?  Each bunny is represented by a full-sized miniature!  The version at the store also contains the Kickstarter mystery characters!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Engines of Destruction are churning in the world of Warmachine!Engines of Destruction Warmachine High Command Faith and Fortune

A dragon-based hand management game from Grey Fox Games, Draco Magi puts players in control of a stable of powerful, uniquely skilled dragons.  Each player is assigned a hand of different dragons, all with different colors and abilities, that they then will place into various regions.  The dragon’s abilities will be beneficial or detrimental based on which region they are placed, but players only have so many dragons and so many turns to place their cards.Akrotiri

Looking for a strategic, but easy-to-learn two player game?  Z-Man Games has your back with Akrotiri.  A combination of hand management and tile laying games, Akrotiri is set in ancient Greece with players controlling explorers venturing out to chart the Aegean Sea.  Each player is given a map that they must build from by pulling and laying Small World A Spider's Webtiles randomly.  As the map is constructed, players will also raise temples that gain them points, especially the further out they build.

It’s not such a Small World anymore, as Days of Wonder continues to release further expansions for the popular area control game.  A Spider’s Web is the newest mini-expansion, containing three new races and three new powers.  The races that are included are Ice Witches, Skags, and Slingmen along with their respective powers, Copycat, Lava, and Soultouch.  As well, the box for the expansion contains a specialized tray to hold all these materials as well as those of other recent expansions.

Rio Grande Games also expands the clauses and addendums to the Last Will board game with the Getting Sacked expansion.  Adding more obstacles to the already difficult process of attaining your late Uncle’s fortune, Getting Sacked requires players Last Will Getting Sackedto find a way to lose their job as well as find a good, honest, money spending wife.  Each expansion option is included in this one set, but you will need the base game to begin.

They may not run as smoothly as race cars, they may not take turns as well, and they may poop on the track, but elephants will get you where you need to go.  Formula E is a variation on the Formula Epopular Formula D racing game, but featuring pachyderms instead of cars.  Players will lay down movement, obstacle, and other types of cards in order to move their ride around the track, blocking out other players in order to get ahead.

Coming up on Channel A is a new program for fans of anime and manga, ready-made for party gaming!

Recently run through the distributor system following a successful Kickstarter run, Channel A is another in a long line of Apples to Apples style party games.  In the case of Channel A, players are selecting multiple cards, each with a uniquely anime-esque words, and using them to pitch a new anime show to the rest of the group.  Votes are taken and points are assigned based on majority.

If there’s a cult following bigger than fans of zombie stuff, it’s fans of Cthulhu stuff.

From the makers of Zombies!!!, the highly popular zombie outbreak survival game, comes Cthulhu!!!:  Hastur La Vista Baby!  Similar to Zombies!!!, players control hardened Elder God exterminators attempting to halt the return of an creature from beyond by sanctifying ritual sites.  However, the threat of insanity looms large over everyone thrust into the middle of this horrific setting.  Can you hold out?

Flash Point is jumping in the drink with its newest set of expansion boards, Dangerous Waters.

In this expansion are two double-sided game boards with representations of a submarine and a sunken ship, offering an entirely original environment for players to experience.  Any safety provided by the above-ground buildings of all the previous sets is now out-the-window, so to speak, raising the stakes in this popular cooperative game.

Newly arrived and quickly disappearing from the shelves is Magic the Gathering‘s most recent Duel Deck, Jace vs. Vraska.

Hotly anticipated, this duel deck retails for $19.99, but contains cards with values which far exceed the price.  As well, these duel deck sets are always perfect introductory products for new Magic players, giving them a fully built deck to play as well as one to give an opponent.

A supplement to the Chaos Space Marine’s Codex, the recently released Crimson Slaughter Codex provides information about unique artifacts and options for your existing Chaos Space Marines army.  As well, it provides a unique story that’s never before been told in the Warhammer 40K materials.

Legend of the Five Rings makes a major comeback this weekend with the launch of a freshly designed base set, the Ivory Edition, anchored by four new booster pack releases and a set of nine starter decks.  The classic nine clans are represented, including crab, scorpion, crane, and all the rest.

Somebody really needs to Asmadi Games to start play testing these games they’re releasing.

In the mean time, here’s another We Didn’t Playtest This edition, this time known as We Didn’t Playtest This Pasted-On Theme at All!  Adding another batch of original cards, this expansion also includes stick-on (paste not included) themes like zombie, pirate, elves, and more.  Not only do these themes make each card snazzier than before, they also change the endgame scenario.

While we’re on the topic of expansions, the popular education series, Timeline, gains another themed expansion this weekend.  Timeline: Music & Cinema plays just like the previous versions of the game with players attempting to lay cards from their hand in chronological order without seeing the dates.  In this specific expansion, all the cards relate to major moments or works in the music and film industries.

A loving homage to classic Dungeons & Dragons, Luke Crane’s Torchbearer RPG HC is all dungeon crawling all the time.

Building off of the Burning Wheel and Mouse Guard roleplaying systems, Torchbearer deals in deep, dank dungeons, heroic adventurers, and a hunt for glory.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Wall-Crawler has finally swing his way into the Legendary deck-building game, and he’s brought along friends.  Another mini-expansion for Marvel‘s successful DBG, Paint the Town Red (trust us, the contents are better than the title) includes cards for the Black Symbiote Spider-Man, Moon Knight, Black Cat, Scarlet Spider, and Spider-Woman as well as Mastermind cards for Carnage and Mysterio.

The great glory of Mankind must be reclaimed!

So say the Sentinels of Terra in the newest Space Marines Codex supplement.  This hardcover release contains information on how to build a Sentinels army, a detailed background of the faction telling how they came to be and what they desire, and an array of mission templates designed to recreate famous battles from the Sentinels history.

Also out from the Warhammer 40K universe this weekend is the Imperial Knights Codex.  Collecting valuable information for the reassembled Knight world faction, this Codex contains the history of the Imperial Knights, extended information about the Knight Errant and Paladin suits, and rules for running an Imperial Knight detachment.

A week late due to these aggravating shipping troubles that continue to pop up recently, the Born of the Gods Event Deck is now available!

A mono black deck, the Underworld Herald Event Deck is designed for competitive tournament play.  An entirely built sixty card deck and fifteen card sideboard, Underworld Herald features a combination of Pack Rat, Doom Blade, Xathrid Necromancer, and Desecration Demon, the latter of which is a nearly ten dollar card.

The highly popular storytelling battle game Once Upon a Time, wherein players jockey for control of a fantasy narrative using their imagination and special story beat cards, gains another expansion this weekend in Knightly Tales.  Focusing on Knights and their honorable bravery, this fifty-five card expansion adds additional story and ending cards.

Two great tastes that taste great together, Drinking Quest the Card Game combines roleplaying games and, well, drinking.

A simple card game styled around the mechanics of classic RPGs, Drinking Quest has players choose stat-ed character cards, just like in RPGs, then face off against monsters (decided randomly by the cards, acting as GM).  Beat the monster and you earn life and glory, lose and you must chug, chug, chug!  If you have the most XP by the game’s end, you win.  The losers drink.  So, really everyone comes out alright.

Grab the boards and nails, because Card of the Dead is here!

A draw and play card game set during the zombie apocalypse, Card of the Dead has players drawing action and item cards, playing them to secure themselves from the undead or to battle against them.  Obtaining and playing escape cards is how players win, activating end game after a specific amount have been played.  Or, if you’re the more gruesome type, you can simply see who outlasts everyone else.

Maximum Throwdown is EXACTLY what its name suggests.  From AEGMaximum Throwdown is a physically active card game where players literally throw cards (maximumly?) onto other cards.  However, this is more than a game of fifty-two card pickup, as each card includes icons and emblems that allow the player who threw them to earn special abilities if they’re uncovered.  As one might assume, the goal here is to cover your opponent’s card icons in order to deactivate their abilities while enhancing your own.

The assault has begun!

The fourth adventure pack in the Against the Shadow expansion set for the Lord of the Rings LCG game, Assault on Osgiliath, is out!  All stages of the battle between the Orcs and the Southrons rages onward, these expansion cards convey and detail the action, allowing players to work through the action in cooperative play!

The first deluxe expansion for the Star Wars living card game may be called Edge of Darkness, but it’s all about the grey side of the universe.  A total of 132 new cards expand the game’s objectives, adding an extra 32.  All of these center around two new factions, scum on the dark side and smugglers on the force side.  In short, that’s bounty hunters versus the colleges of Han Solo.

Emperor’s Chosen, the most recent supplement to Fantasy Flight’s Deathwatch series, separates the men from the boys, the chaff from the wheat, the Deathwatch from the Battle Brothers.  Among the Space Marines there are a faction of veteran warriors so revered, so reviled they have earned the title of Battle Brothers.  These daring few are what this supplemental hardcover is all about.  Let your players live the legacy of these unbeatable soldiers by picking up a copy of Emperor’s Chosen.

Avid science fiction junkies take note of Monte Cooke’s Numenera roleplaying system.  Just released, the core rulebook details the far distant future of the Ninth World, a vast world of ancient and advanced technology that houses what remains the human race.  While the Core Rulebook offers all the information about the setting, characters, adventures, and more (all detailed in eye-popping, painterly artwork), the Player’s Guide condenses the information necessary only to players, offering a concise sixty-four page booklet for players to devour.

Completing tonight’s trifecta of roleplaying books is Pathfinder‘s newest release, Mythic Adventures.  As the structures of mythology are as old as time, Mythic Adventures adapts these tropes and plots to the popular roleplaying system.  Players can adventure through mythic “paths” designed for their character, fighting mythic creatures, and casting mythic spells.  There’s a lot of mythic-ness going on here, basically.
