10-4, Big Kahuna, it’s time for Another BIG Expansion for Galaxy Trucker!

That’s right, the only game where you travel the intergalactic highways, fighting off marauders from your space semi-truck as you deliver cargo to the next planet gets a new expansion box.  Any of the contents of this special delivery can be played with or without the previous expansion, but must be played with the base Galaxy Trucker game.  Brand new ship boards with rules, ship components to build with, intruders to attack your ship, and support staff to ease your travel are among the many extras and additives included in this cargo.  Give me a tug on that horn if you’re gonna pick it up!!

Y’all done hear the tale of Revolver?  Nah?  Well, mosey on up ta the campfire for a tale.

Though it all began with Revolver, tonight you’re gonna hear ’bout it’s young’n, Revolver 2.  It’s a yarn about a tiny town versus an army, ‘General’ Mapache’s army, ta be precise.  One player takes control of the town’s residents and the gunfighters they’ve hired to protect them, while the other player takes control of Mapache’s army.  Each hombre controls their own deck of cards, including weapons, actions, and win condition cards.  And, if you’ve got’a lucky horse, you might feel like adding one of the other expansion packs, Hunt the Man Down or Ambush on Gunshot Trail, for added play modules.  Now, eat your beans, bed down of the night, an’ don’t let a rattlesnake bite your nose.

Last but in no way least, the new Magic the Gathering set came out this evening.  Gatecrash is the second set in the Return to Ravnica block, and the second set of guilds.  We currently have in stock booster boxes for English, Russian, Korean, and Japanese cards for the set, as well as Fat Packs and Intro Decks.  The guilds for this set include Orzhov, Simic, Gruul, Boros, and Dimir, so be sure to get your matching sleeves and deck boxes to accentuate your cards.

Many of this week’s new game stuff has been displayed on the Face of Books throughout the week, so I’m just going to be lazy here and show off some pictures. Truthfully, most of these items are so cool that’s all you need to know.

First off, the newest Munchkin booster pack expansion gets a shot of Felicia Day as it focuses on the popular web series, The Guild.

Also Munchkin related, the new Munchkin Cthulhu Kill-o-Meter joins the previously released meters of death. As usual, the accessory comes with two exclusive promo cards, one for Munchkin Cthulhu and one for Munchkin Quest.

The final mention of the lightning round is the Pathfinder Buff Deck, a quick reference solution to keeping track of character’s bonuses. Easy to stack cards help to keep rulebook referencing down to a minimum.

Okay, into the actual listings. In case you haven’t been up to the store recently, we’ve started to carry so many sleeves that, at this point, we’ve got to be pulling them in from an inter-dimensional gateway or something. The newest acquisition in our quest to rule the world of card sleeves are a wide selection of Legion sleeves. These include such inventive designs as “Mmmm…Bacon”, “RTFC”, “Pure Jank”, the V for Vendetta mask, and sleeves with the Ascension logo on them. Basically, there’s a sleeve for every day of the year.

Not exactly new stuff, but we got a massive, massive, gigantic restock on Pathfinder materials. I’m just going to list a bunch of them because there’s too many to go into any detail. Council Thieves item cards, Weapons Locker item cards, Skull Shakles item cards, Crimson Throne item cards, Winter Witch, Master of Devils, The Final Wish, The Sixfold Trial, What Lies in Dust, Infernal Syndrome, Mother of Flies, Cities of Golarion, Adventurer’s Armory, Humans of Golarion, Twice-Damned Prince, Vaults of Madness, and a whole heck of a lot more. Come check it all out.

With Avacyn Restored Game Day on the horizon (tomorrow night’s horizon, in fact), player’s may be searching for strong constructed decks to wield. Well, as usual, Wizards has an answer: Event Decks. The two newest decks dropped today, one being a black deck (Death’s Encroach) and the other being a blue/white (Humanity’s Vengeance). Both, also as usual, contain some decent rares, including Glacial Fortress, Moorland Haunt, Mirran Crusader, Geralf’s Messenger, and Gravecrawler.

Possibly the #1 statement I hear from customers is, “This store is so much like The Big Bang Theory!” After this weekend we relate even further to the popular nerd-loving show, because we now carry The Big Bang Theory Party Game. Mechanically set-up like Apples to Apples, players submit cards attempting to match the keyword phrase card in the center of the table. But there’s an added spin, certain cards can alter the keyword in the middle of the turn. Bazinga!

Can you believe The Avengers comes out next Friday?

Seems like I’ve been waiting for that movie come out my whole life, but no matter how close it gets it still feels too far away. Luckily, Wizkids a new set of Avengers Heroclix to tide me and everyone else over. Just like they have done with Green Lantern, Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek, The Avengers set is out in a base starter set (containing six of the core team) and individual booster boxes. All of these figures can be simply collected or you can play them as a miniature battle game. The starter set even comes with maps and rules to complete the gaming experience. With sixteen figures to collect overall, you better start now to assemble all The Avengers.

Following last week’s Fantasy Flight Lord of the Rings and Star Wars card sleeves, this week’s new set of sleeves depict another popular Sci-Fi/Fantasy franchise: Game of Thrones. Both sleeve types come with fifty sleeves, one displaying John Snow, the other Melisandre.

Or if you’re not into George R.R. Martin‘s fantasy series, there are new sleeves depicting Cthulhu, DungeonQuest imagery, and artwork from the popular co-op board game, Red November. All of these sleeves are standard sized, designed to fit most common CCGs, LCGs, and basic card game cards.

Popular game designer Reiner Knizia has created a slew of fantastic board games, such as Lost Cities, but his newest game is the Black Sheep of the bunch. A great, easy to learn card-based game intended for the whole family, Black Sheep has players collecting sets of animal cards, trying for better combinations than their opponents, and corralling them in their pens. Ah, but the black sheep is ready at every turn to ruin your hand. In line with family games like Zoolerreto, Black Sheep is a perfect edition for game night.

Close, close in a gaming store not so far away…

STAR WARS CARD SLEEVES!!!!!

Yes, hum the theme song in your head if you must. Fantasy Flight has released an exceptional limited run of specialty Star Wars backed card sleeves. So, play Magic with the man who shot first or catch’em all with Lord Vader or throw them on any other card game that needs some sci-fi spice. But whatever you do, pick them up before an X-Wing comes along and vaporizes them because there will not be any prequels here.

Of course, if space battles and laser swords aren’t your thing, maybe the other limited edition Lord of the Rings sleeves will be. Slip them over your favorite standard sized cards to give them a Samwise Gamgee to their Frodo Baggins. Or grasp the One Ring to rule all other swag-less individuals. Whatever you choose, wield them responsibly.

You want to kick your Warhammer Fantasy RPG game up to level 4? How about level 5? Then let Hero’s Call be Fantasy’s version of the Spinal Tap speaker! Chocked full of new hero and GM options for careers, action cards, talents, spells, and region options, this player’s resource is loaded with must-have ingredients for kicking your game up a couple levels.

Bringing Cthulhu to the deck-building party, Penny Arcade: Rumble in R’Lyeh is both a standalone game and an expansion for last year’s Penny Arcade: The Game, Gamers vs. Evil! So, players can enjoy Eldar God gaming goodness in the base 2-4 player version of the game or combine it with the previous game for excessive nerd overload. Rumble in R’Lyeh specifically adds Gold cards to the gameplay, which must be acquired through the use of Token and Power cards. Totally worth it when they have names like Gunhorse (a horse made of guns, duh!), Sad Zombie, and Gabe’s Gross Mouth.

Bridging books and board games, the Where the Wild Things Are board game from the Tales to Play series, lets families take control of Max’s journey to the land of the Wild Things. Each player controls a different Max miniature game piece on his trek through the becoming king of the Wild Things. Players draw cards and roll dice to decide their success or failure across the illustrated game board. Great gameplay and Wild Thing miniatures for the whole family.

Gamers have been waiting for this next exapnsion since somewhere around the dawn of man. Yes,  has finally arrived. Adding not only a fifth player ability to the game, but a new item dubbed decoration. Players may now trade their resources for this item in an effort to gain further points. Club someone if you have too, fight a t-rex, do whatever you have to for a copy of this valued expansion.

HELLO. TONIGHT GAME STUFF ROBOT WILL EXPLAIN.

PROCESSING….PROCESSING…

FIRST GAME IS POWER GRID: THE ROBOTS. IT IS 10110011! HAHA! ROBOT HUMOR!

THIS EXPANSION IS COMPATIBLE WITH TWO PLAYERS, BUT IF DESIRED, YOU MAY PLAY WITH UP TO 5. EACH ROBOT PIECE IS COMPRISED OF TILES. THESE TILES EXPLAIN THE RULES AND ACTIONS OF EACH ROBOT SO THAT PLAYERS MAY USE THEM AS INANIMATE OPPONENTS. DO NOT LAUGH AT ROBOT, THEY ARE SERIOUS OPPONENT. THEIR SPECIAL ABILITIES GIVE THEM BENEFITS THAT OUTWEIGH NORMAL PLAYERS. ALSO…

DESTROY ALL HUMANS! DESTROY! DESTROY! DES…***

Sorry about that. Some times he gets overworked.

So, anyway, back to just us humans.

Well, humans and hobbits and elves and orks, anyway. Releasing its second edition, War of the Ring finally returns to the shelves today. What used to be a scrictly two player game has now expanded up to four (don’t worry, though, you can still play one-on-one), but the gameplay of Free Peoples versus Sauron’s legions is still intact. One side plays the “good guys” attempting to battle Sauron and get the ring to Mordor, while the other side plays Sauron’s forces, searchig across the land for beings to slaughter. The 205 miniatures included along with the board have been updated with intricate detail and design.

But don’t kick yourself if you’ve already bought the first edition and are feeling left out. Ares Games has you in mind. In fact, they’ve created a special conversion kit just so you can keep using your copy of the first edition. Coming in a sturdy tin container the kit comes with all the good and evil forces cards you will need to update your game along with specially sized sleeves to protect all of them. Now that’s thinking ahead.

Well, guess that’s all…wait, no, don’t…Aaaagggghhh!

EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! GAME STUFF ROBOT WILL EXTERMINATE ALL HUMANS!
