Netrunner Data Pack The Spaces BetweenDave Matthews must have just been hired on as a game designer at Fantasy Flight, because the newest Netrunner LCG Data Pack is named The Spaces Between.  The second expansion in the Lunar Cycle, The Spaces Between lives up to its name by exploring the limbo status of used up events and operations.  What after effects do these cards have once they are discarded?

Doesn’t matter what class you play in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, Paizo has Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Rogue Class Deckyou covered.

This weekend, the publisher is unleashing Class Decks for seven different class types, with each being capable of incorporation into the base Adventure Card Game.  The seven class types presented are the Bard, Cleric, Fighter, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, and Wizard.  Each deck contains 109 cards that apply to four different archetypes for each class and spells, allies, and weapons to be used with any of them.

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Skull Shackles Raiders of the Fever SeaAlso out for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game this weekend are the first two card expansions for the Skull and Shackles adventure path.  First up,  the Character Add-On Deck, like with the base game, supplies three entirely new class types, including Witch, Alchemist, and Warpriest, as well as the cards to expand the game up to six players.  Raiders of the Fever Sea is the second expansion, containing 110 cards that introduce five scenarios that progress the adventure, as well as adding loot, monster, location, villain, and ship cards. Run Fight or Die board game

While zombie-based content my vary from television to film to comics to board games, there is only one consistent option when you face them down:  Run, Fight, or Die.  This new board game changes up the growing subgenre of zombie survival board games by pitting each player (1-4) against their own undead horde.  Players race around a special game board attempting to collect supplies and survivors while not being bitten or letting too many followers become zombified.  Those who outlast the rest with the most life survive to fight another day, while those Smash Up Monster Smash expansionwho don’t shamble away into the darkness.

The pun is so obvious it was only a matter of time before AEG released a Smash Up expansion that used it.

Monster Smash (yup, like monster mash) is the newest expansion for the popular card game where players blend together all sorts of different creatures and character types to form one absurd deck.  Included in the expansion are four original factions, each with a movie monster theme to them.  The four are Werewolves, Vampires, Mad Scientists, and, of course, Giant Ants.  Monster Smash can be played as either a two player game or a four player game, if incorporated into the base Smash Up game.   Rebel Aces Star Wars X-Wing

Many Bothans died to bring you the Rebel Aces Star Wars X-Wing expansion.

Like the Imperial Aces expansion, this set comes with two ship miniatures, an alternate paint job A-Wing and B-Wing, along with four original pilot characters and all the standard maneuver cards, tokens, and upgrade cards.  In addition, the set comes with a special mission suited to the skills of both ships.

Batman Black and White Statue by Greg Capullo

-Match the Joe’s Garage Joker statue from last week with his equal and opposite number.

-Capullo’s stylish pencils are brought to life in this accurate statue.

-Most recent in the popular line of Batman Black and White statues, Capullo’s is equally suited to the monochromatic coloration as all the rest.

-Just a reminder, there’s nothing anyone loves more than a Dark Knight for the holidays.

-Finally, a book for female comic readers!  Disregard the title, this team is entirely comprised of strong, sympathetic women mutants.

-Olivier Coipel (House of M, Avengers vs. X-Men, The Mighty Thor) lends his kinetic style to every thrilling action scene in the series, making this one of the most action packed X-Men series in recent years.

-The untold tale of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, Manifest Destiny retells the duo’s exploration across the open American West, but with a monstrous twist.

-Chris Dingess, the writer, knows his way around werewolves and other demons as he comes off of writing episodes of the Being Human television series, as well as Reaper and Medium.

-Already sold-out at the distributor level, Manifest Destiny #1 should be nabbed before it disappears altogether.

Marvel Knights X-Men #1 (of 5)

-Matt Kindt and Marco Rudy’s Marvel Knights Spider-Man miniseries has set the tone for Marvel‘s relaunch of this grim and gritty imprint, promising weird, stylistic, adult stories with famous Marvel characters.

-A breeding ground for up-and-coming talent, Marvel Knights brings in Brahm Revel, a young writer and penciler ready to bring a more thoughtful tone to the X-Men than offered in the mainline books.

-A minimalist story that takes Wolverine, Rogue, and Kitty Pryde back to the basics of the X-Men, this miniseries sees the trio travel to a smalltown to stop a string of bigoted murders of recently developed mutants.

-Revel’s concise artistic style, reminiscent of Darwyn Cooke and Bruce Timm, will deliver ambiance and character emotion in simple, broad strokes.

New comic March continues this week with another onslaught of inventive Indy fair. Here’s the rundown:

-Dominique Laveau Voodoo Child: New Orleans, voodoo, and ghosts come together for this new Vertigo ongoing. Dominique, a young grad student, finds that she’s wanted by the magic community of New Orleans…for murdering their Voodoo Queen.

-Hoax Hunters: A take off of popular Ghost Hunting shows, this miniseries revolves around a team of reality TV personalities who hunt and explain mysterious creatures around the globe. Issue #0 focuses on a long lost Russian astronaut ghost. Creeeeepy.

-Ragemoor: In line with classic Gothic tales from Poe and Lovecraft, this new horror miniseries from legendary Heavy Metal artist Richard Corben focuses on a living mansion with an insane owner and an unholy secret.

-Rebel Blood: Riley Rossmo, artist of Cowboy, Ninja, Viking, lends his writing and illustrative talents to this Image Comics horror series where demonic, zombie creatures, both human and animal, are roaming the Southern landscape, chewing on the living.

-Rocketeer Adventures 2: Following in the same style as the first series, each issue of this miniseries contains short Rocketeer stories from the industry’s best writers and artists. With guys like Darwyn Cooke, Peter David, Art Adams, and Bill Sienkiewicz, creating new pulpy stories how can you go wrong?

-Smoke & Mirrors: Akin to the recent IDW series Memorial, this fantasy miniseries incorporates actual slight of hand and stage magic tricks into its tale of a lost soul in a world where magic has advanced past technology.

-Supercrooks: Mark Millar, the sensational author behind Kick-Ass, Nemesis, and The Ultimates, offers this new take on the supervillain. When a villain team from America feels the heat, they relocate to Spain for a little overseas badness.

Oh my Thanos! So, many comics!

And how ’bout some more?

Nick Spencer is a man of many talents. He can write zany, wordy alternate world hopping tales like Infinite Vacation while also being able to manage subtle, minimal spy books like Thunder Agents. And he can write political cape and cowl fair like a mofo! The new collection of Ultimate Comics X-Men will prove this to you. If you haven’t kept up with the Ultimate universe, one, this is a good book to get in on and, two, how about a little backstory? The X-Men are in tatters after most of the team has died (that’s Xavier, Wolverine, Cyclops, and others, folks) and the government is out for mutant blood. That leaves the ragtag team of Kitty Pryde, Wolverine’s son, Johnny Storm, Iceman, and Rogue to face off against William Stryker, the country’s most recent religious zealot who’s murdering mutants indiscriminately. Unlike any other X-Men book you’ve ever read.

Finally, let’s end the night with one of Vincent Van Gogh’s classic paintings: TARDIS Mid-Explosion. And if that doesn’t suit your refined tastes, maybe a Weeping Angel t-shirt will.
