Race for the Galaxy Xeno InvasionBuilding an empire is a hard day’s work all on its own, but try doing it with an evil alien race attacking you!  The most recent expansion set for Race for the Galaxy challenges you to do just that.  Xeno Invasion is two games in one box, including both new start world cards that can be added to the base game to expand play options along with the Invasion Game scenario that can be incorporated to up the difficulty.Secret Santa card game

Yes, we all know Christmas was nearly a month ago, but game distributors are a little less certain.  Hence, Secret Santa, a festive card game of competitive gift giving.  Underneath all of the holiday cheer, everyone really is just giving away presents to feel that rush of approval when the receiver joyfully exclaims “This is the best present ever!  You know me so well!”  Secret Santa is all about that moment, as players compete to give away all of their present cards.  Alter the game a little by adding in Santa’s Elves, where players have to give away their gold rings and avoid being stuck with the dreaded fruitcake.

Pathfinder Battles Iconic Heroes Set 4Officially intended for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, the Iconic Heroes sets are more commonly used for the traditional Pathfinder roleplaying game.  Icon Heroes Set 4 contains miniatures for the Human Bloodrager, Half-Elf gunslinger, Dwarf Shaman, Stone Spirit Animal, Human Skald, and Half-Elf Swashbuckler.  Each one of the miniatures is fully painted and ready for use in-game.  For those who are actually using these in conjunction with the Adventure Card Game, the set also includes six exclusive cards to be incorporated into the game.Escape Zombie City

Though Escape:  Zombie City has been out on the shelves for nearly a month, we some how never mentioned it in a New Game Stuff post.  Tonight that is rectified.  A spin-off of Queen Games‘ popular Escape series, Zombie City deposits players into a zombie apocalypse and demands that they outrun the hordes of undead clamoring to eat them.  The catch?  You only have fifteen minutes to get out of town!  With everyone working together, players start a fifteen minute counter included with the Bang Duelgame, then rapidly attempt to flee the confines of the city.

Bang!, the popular, Western deception card game, puts a couple more bullets into its six-gun this weekend.  First up are two expansion decks, High Noon and The Valley of Shadows .  High Noon includes a new character card, the Judge, and a few new event cards, like Ghost Town and Gold Rush.  The Valley of Shadows is a dangerous place, full of snake and tornadoes (and possibly snake-nados), all represented by twenty-four additonal cards.  Finally, the biggest draw of the three is Bang! the Duel, a two player only version of the game.  Each player controls two different gunslingers, one in front, one in back, then uses their abilities to compete against one Fluxx Diceanother.

As if the fluctuating party card game, Fluxx, was not already a heap of shenanigans, Looney Labs has found a way to increase the randomness.  Meet Fluxx Dice.  This expansion set can be incorporated into any version of Fluxx (base, Batman, Zombie, Monty Python, etc.), as it includes five new cards and two dice that complicate card draws and win conditions even further.

Sentinels of the Multiverse Wrath of the CosmosJust as the title advertises, Sentinels of the Multiverse expands into the far reaches of the galaxy with its newest expansion.  Wrath of the Cosmos is another expansion for the highly popular superhero cooperative card game, coming with two new space-based heroes, four galactic-level baddies, and environments where no one can hear you scream.  Arcadia Quest Super Dungeon

From the company behind Super Dungeon Explorer comes another dungeon crawler with an anime flare!  Arcadia Quest pits guilds of explorers against each other as they traverse the lair of the vampire lord.  Each guild is tasked to complete various scenarios, only moving onward when they have been accomplished.  However, guilds can mess with each other in an attempt to deter opponents.

Camel Up CupA rare two to eight player game, Camel Up is a bidding and dice rolling game centered around a pack of racing camels.  Five camels race around a pyramid while players roll dice to determine the amount of spaces each camel moves.  In between dice rolls, players can bet on their favored camel, earning more points at the end of the game based on how early they placed their bet.  But beware, the camels have a few tricks up their sleeves, including jumping on top of each other. Doomtown New Town New Rules

Ole Doomtown‘s fillin’ up mighty quickly, pardner.  The newly remade Doomtown:  Reloaded card game receives its second expansion decks this weekend.  Following up on New Town, New Rules, Double Dealin’ explores the fallout of Gomorrah’s first mayoral election with four copies of twenty-one new cards that can be incorporated into the base game.

Roll for the GalaxyIf you can’t tell from the title, Roll for the Galaxy is Rio Grande Games‘ dice variation on the popular Race for the Galaxy card game series.  Roll for the Galaxy uses dice to represent interplanetary settlers as the populated local star systems.  Two to five players will roll their dice in an attempt to manage their settlers in relation to technology and other resources, hopefully coming out on top.Firefly Blue Sun expansion board game

The Verse is a big place and Firefly:  The Game – Blue Sun aims to explore it.  This third expansion for the board game based off of the cult favorite series provides a board extension called The Rim.  This dangerous edge of the galaxy is rough terrain, but comes populated with new missions, crew opportunities, and a new supply planet for players to misbehave in.  And, of course, a new nav deck steers your ship through all of this Reaver populated Dungeon Master's Screen D&D Next 5.0 Dragonsterritory.

Since Gale Force Nine had difficulty keeping their D&D Next/5.0 Dungeon Master‘s screen in print, Wizards of the Coast stepped in and made one themselves.  Frankly, there’s is better.  A four panel, fold-out screen, this hard cardstock accessory provides all of the essential stats and tips a game master needs to keep his players spellbound and struggling along.Star Realms Crisis booster expansion

Following in the footsteps of Steve Jackson‘s Munchkin series, Star Realms (the exponentially expandable deck building game) receives four new, non-randomized booster pack expansions this week.  Each of these four packs can be incorporated into any amount of the base game.  Star Realms:  Crisis – Bases & Battleships includes a new ship for each faction as well as eight additional ships.  Star Realms:  Crisis – Heroes provide an entirely new card type called the Hero.  Star Realms:  Crisis – Fleets & Fortresses contains a new base for each faction, plus eight new ships.  And, finally, Star Realms:  Crisis – Events also adds a new card type called Events.

Got eight minutes to spare?

Why not play Eight-Minute Empire: Legends?  The second stand-alone release in this line, Legends is literally playable in eight minutes, ready-made for quick gaming in between gaming.  The game involves players picking cards off of six piles, with each card providing a special action to perform immediately after.

Three new ships pull into the Star Trek Attack Wing docking bay this weekend, including the USS Excelsior for the Federation, RIS Vo from the Romulan alliance, and Dominion’s Koranak vessel.

Who you gonna call?  Yourself!

Ghooost! is family friendly, easily travel-able card matching game where players try to get rid of their hand of cards by matching suits with cards previously laid down.  Players pull from their “mansion” for new cards, hoping for cards with special abilities that allow them to lay more cards or enact other actions.  The whole game also comes in a handy carrying box that folds out into the game board.

Gamer couples searching for a new two player experience need look no further than Pixel Tactics and Pixel Tactics 2.

Head-to-head battling is the name of the game, stemming from each player controlling an identical deck of cards, but assigning a specific leader card to the deck that entirely alters how each card plays.  This allows for twenty-five different variations on the standard deck.  And don’t worry about picking these initially releases up in order, they are both stand-alone and can be played in any order.

The fifth large expansion for the Warhammer:  Invasion LCG card game, Hidden Kingdoms, fleshes out the remaining factions that have, up until now, not seen play in the game.  These include Skaven, Lizardmen, Wood Elves, and Undead, each of which has been built-up to a full faction.

The Mayan apocalypse may never have come, but that hasn’t stopped Tzolk’in from producing an expansion to end all expansions.  Tribes and Prophecies not only adds enough pieces to include a fifth player, but also alters the gaming experience entirely by allowing each player to take command of tribe leaders that grant them abilities beyond the normal selection.

Space is a vast and endless place, which means Rio Grand Games has plenty of universe to produce a fifth Race for the Galaxy expansion from.  Alien Artifacts adds a fifth playable deck onto the base game, as well as five additional start worlds.  Along with these extra pieces, the expansion contains another gaming mode where players map an alien “orb” searching for artifacts that gain them extra powers.

For the penultimate game item, Pathfinder, like a Pokemon trainer on a winning spree, continues to evolve their dragons.  This time around, it’s the Red Dragon Evolution set of miniatures.

And, basically, that’s kinda it…

Like there’s three dragons.

And some are bigger than others.

But they’re all red…

Yup…

Anyway, the ‘verse is never done offering up rewards for determined, swindly captains, especially ones experienced in Breakin’ Atmo.

The first expansion deck for the beloved Firefly board game, Breakin’ Atmo, supplies players with twenty-five new jobs, supply cards, and shiploads of gear!  Shiny don’t even begin to describe this valuable bobble!
