Hipster DiceLike mustaches, lattes, kale, and thick framed glasses before it, Hipster Dice is the new game that you need to be playing before everyone else figures out how cool it is.  We’d explain how it plays, but you probably wouldn’t understand the rules, they’re based off of a traditional German dice game from the early thirties.

Before the Gods, there were the Titans.  Cyclades:  Titans is the second expansion for Cyclades, Cyclades Titansthe game of mythological battle.  This expansion features an entirely new board containing six separate island nations for players to fight on.  As well, the expansion contains two separate play styles, including an up to five player competitive mode and a team version for up to six players.

My Little Pony Theme Deck Crystal CasteAnother My Little Pony CCG set is on the horizon and to herald its arrival, Enterplay released two new Theme Decks this weekend.  The Opening Ceremonies deck is built around the Cutie Mark Crusaders while the Special Delivery deck is built around Spike.  Both decks come with nearly sixty cards, ready to play as a pre-built deck, as well as a rule booklet and playmat with instructions.Planes

You know that scene in Home Alone where the entire family is sprinting to the airport terminal in a desperate effort to catch their plane?  Yeah, well, AEG has turned that into a game.  Planes, a sequel to the successful Trains, has players squabbling against each other to make it through an overcrowded terminal, check their luggage, and get through security before anyone else.  Oh, and you have to make sure your entire family makes it to the Mars Attacks The Dice Gameplane.

Ack ack ack ACK!  Or in terrestrial language, the new Mars Attacks Dice Game is out.

A tactical dice game of world domination, players take on the role of invading martians, rolling dice to determine which landmarks you destroy, how many humans you eviscerate, and whether you take any photos on this vacation.  Based off of the cult classic trading cards and the Tim Burton film, Steve Jackson‘s Mars Attacks Dice Claustrophobia Furor SanguinisGame is an easy, quick game for fans!

The dungeon crawl board game, Claustrophobia (which is set in the Hell Dorado universe), gains an expansion this weekend in Furor Sanguinis.  Including tiles, a miniature, tokens, dice, and another squamata board, Furor Sanguinis allows players to control Kartikeya in a three Dungeons Dragons Miniatures Tiamatplayer variant of the game.

Dungeons and Dragons Next‘s dragon miniature count increases by two this weekend with the release of the Tiamat and Bahamut premium miniatures.  These fully painted, epic sized figurines are usable within the roleplaying system and will shortly be made available for the Attack Wing battle game.Letters to Santa

Just in time for the holidays, AEG has released another, yule tide variation of Love Letter.  Letters to Santa overlays the popular mechanics of Love Letter by having players struggling to get a letter to Santa and avoid Krampus in the process.  This easy Shadowrun Beginner Box Setto learn, all ages card game even comes in Santa’s own, red sack.

Cyberpunk and the fantasy of D&D collide in the world of Shadowrun!

Can you believe it’s been ten years since BANG! came out?

To celebrate, the BANG! 10th Anniversary edition of the base game has come riding into town.  Unlike the base version of the game, this edition comes with a number of additional extras that enhance gameplay.  Wooden bullets and premium player boards organize the life totals and card arrangement, respectively.  Also included are a “Most Wanted” rogues gallery of character cards from the various expansions for the game, which include two cards from the Valley of Shadows expansion which was only released in the Czech Republic.  A completely new character is also held within the metal confines of the box, one featuring a cowgirl.  Giddy on it, liddle doggies.

Rule one is:  Don’t let the natives get restless!

In Archipelago the colonists players control have to walk a tightrope of resource management and worker placement, while also carefully choosing to side with or backstab their opponents.  As you mine Carribean settlement for resources, you must also transform these natural commodities into cash by selling them at market or overseas in the homeland.  Construction of temples, markets, and whole cities must also be carefully balanced as to not leave the natives unsatisfied or organized because they will rise up.  And though that may sound like a way to unseat your opponent, a violent uprising will end the game for everyone, so it’s in your best interest to quell them as they sprout up.

Core Worlds receives its first expansion set this weekend in Galactic Orders.  Alliances are beginning to form in this galaxy-spanning war, a development that has brought in various Galactic Orders represented by oversized cards.  Each Order possesses unique abilities, all of which are laid out clearly on their adjoining card.  As players utilize cards with faction distinctions on them, they in turn place their faction tokens onto Galactic Order cards, either to gain points at the end of the game or activate the Galactic Order abilities for your benefit.  If you’ve ever been party to any galactic politics (and who hasn’t?), you’ll realize that Core Worlds: Galactic Orders recreates such discussions perfectly.

Judging from the box description, Panic On Wall Street! will have you punching your friends in their faces with glee.  Sounds amazing to me!  A party game unlike any other, Panic On Wall Street! has players yelling across each other to win intense bidding wars, attempting to collect the most money possible.  Use speculation!  Use intimidation!  Use force!  Use a large mallet to smack others in the naughty bits!  Warning, the application of alcohol may result in bloody murder.

Claim your dominion over the hinterlands by picking up Dominion: Hinterlands!

The newest expansion to the popular deck building game, Dominion: Hinterlands adds twenty-six new cards to the game.  As each expansion set has a theme to them, Hinterlands focuses on cards that give immediate satisfaction by enacting actions the moment you buy them or receive them.

A personal sidenote, regular customer Eric J. Carter created artwork for a number of cards in this set (building off his card from Dominion: Prosperity), so show him some love and pick up a copy.

Are you a refined individual?

Do you like the premium things in life?  Well, Magic the Gathering has the deck for you.  The new Graveborn Premium All-Foil Deck is a pre-built theme deck constructed around zombies, resurrection, and the undead.  With cards like Entomb, Sphinx of the Steel Wind, and Animate Dead, all foils mind you, this sucker’s a force to be reckoned with.

That and, with cards going for around $40 right now, it worth a crap ton of money.  So, even if you don’t want to play the deck, you might find it worth your while to pick up a copy, sit on it, and sell it off for a mint price later.

Speaking of collectible card games, what’s more collectible than the game where you gotta catch’em all?  Yes, Poke fans, we received an new booster box of the most recent Pokemon booster set, Black & White: Noble Victories this past Wednesday.  This set should be noted for a couple of reasons.  One, this is the third set in the Black & White trilogy, two, it introduces new Restored Pokemon cards, and, three, contains the only Rare Ultra Trainer Card ever.

As they should always be mentioned in the same breath (and I know some people will want to kill me after saying that), it should be noted that we also have a new booster box of Yu-Gi-Oh: Photon Shockwave.  Let the CCG rivalry begin!

Of course, the logical place to go after Pokemon is zombies.  Hey, that new set does have a Restored Pokemon card, so it’s not too much of a stretch.

Anyway, it has been a year since Outbreak: Undead made its way onto the indy RPG scene.  In that time, the creators of the game have released a slew of content on their website.  The new Outbreak: Undead Annual volume 1 collects all these expansive supplements, including new missions, horror traits, zombies, and One Big Monsters.

Joining the few and far between collection of co-operative play games in the world, Panic Station might be one of the first to throw horror into the mix.  Set in a futuristic base where an alien threat has broken loose, players have to work together to find the alien hive and destroy it.  Sounds simple enough, right?  Wrong.  Within the group of four to six players will be an infected member who must keep their identity secret as they slowly and purposefully infect the other players, attempting to thwart the humans’ mission altogether.

If you’re looking for a paranoia-filled version of Forbidden Island, this very well might it.

If you’re looking for a pre-generated adventure for you tenth level character in Pathfinder, the new Forest of Spirits can offer it to you.  Containing the aforementioned adventure, crafted by Richard Prett, a mysterious study of the kami, protectors of the forest, crafted by Mike Shel, an equivalent look into the Minkai by Jesse Benner, along with a crap ton of other info on Oda’s gambling house, monsters, and geisha’s.

Let your war banner fly with the new Runewars: Banners of War expansion.

Containing eight new unit types (that’s two for each faction, folks), new development cards that allow you to improve existing units as well as gain faction-specific abilities, and the Commanders of the Battlefield variant that lets you assign certain heroes to lead your forces, this is an expansion to be reckoned with.

Seriously, I saw it knock a dude out the moment it popped out of the shipping box.

You’ve got your banner, you’ve got your premium deck, and you’re headed to the Hinterlands, but have you got your ticket?

That’s okay, because the new Ticket to Ride: Asia is in stock.  This expansion (you’ll need the base game or Ticket to Ride: Europe to play) supplies two entirely new boards for play.  One being the Team Asia board where players compete against each other in teams as they build railways across greater Asia.  The second is Legendary Asia, which offers easier routes, but beware the mountain routes.  If you’re looking for a way to alter your experience with one of the best board games ever, then board the train and settle down for the journey.

Have you ever had an imaginary friend?  Pretty positive I did whenever I was a kid, but I can bet they weren’t as cool as Jake Ellis.  Who is Jake Ellis, you ask?  Maybe you should read Who Is Jake Ellis? to find out.

One of the many critically acclaimed Image miniseries from this past year, Who Is Jake Ellis? brought Nathan Edmondson (currently writing Grifter for DC) to the forefront of the comics community.  Putting a wonky sci-fi spin on the classic spy book premise, Edmondson crafts a tale about Jon Moore, a well-traveled secret agent, who gets most of his Intel from an imaginary friend, Jake Ellis, who only he can see.  When the poo hits the fan, though, Jake is the only person who can save Moore.  If you’ve been keeping up with Grifter, you’ll know that Edmondson’s writing style keeps you on your toes, always questioning where the story’s going, and if you like that sort of thing in your comics, I’d recommend the Who Is Jake Ellis? TPB.

[If you are Brian Michael Bendis, ignore the next couple of sentences as you, more than likely, already have ten copies of this statue.]

A secret agent in her own right, Jessica Drew has returned to prominence in the Marvel universe over the last decade, due mostly to her constant inclusion in Brian Bendis’ Avengers.  And, if you’ll allow me the wordplay, this Spider-Woman Statue deserves inclusion into your statue collection so that you may display it with prominence.

And they say Bendis has a way with words.

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

Unknown to most, Beyonce is actually singing about the new Halo Series 3 Minimates whenever she belts out the above lyrics.

What she failed to include was any details about which soldier variations and baddies come in the set.  Allow me to correct this:  CQB with Khaki Armor, Jackal Sniper, Elite Combat Armor in gold, and a Rogue Cobalt.

All fairness to Beyonce, those are some hard words to rhyme.

A little past Halloween, but the Headless Horseman (popular WoW Hallow’s End Nemesis) receives the action figure treatment in the fourth series of World of Warcraft Premium Action Figures.  As you might notice in the picture below, he comes with a well-rendered base featuring his stead rising from the ground as it does in the game.  Oh, and he has company in pumpkin minions.  Ole Headless with be joined in the set by Wildmoon Moonkin.
