Dystopias can be so depressing when you aren’t the one in charge.

Luckily, in Euphoria you are in charge of supplying all of the dystopia you can handle!  A worker placement game, in Euphoria players place dice (i.e. workers), whose awareness levels are determined by numbers on each die, in order to expand your empire and acquire the materials to do so.

The path grows ever longer thanks to the Tokaido:  Crossroads expansion.

A first expansion for the game, Crossroads adds additional way-points along your journey, such as gambling establishments, bathhouses, cherry trees, as well as beautiful calligraphy, artifacts, and charms.

Small World ain’t so small any more, as this weekend sees the arrival of the Six Player Board Expansion.

This double-sized board kicks up both base Small World and Small World:  Underground up to six players, turning the games into a team event where three teams of two compete against each other.  The Underground board also adds special places and relics that enhance team play, as well.

Fast and easy to travel, Treehouse is another Looney Pyramids release that plays perfectly with families and kids.  A simple to learn game, players each have stacks of pyramid pieces which they can move, rotate, jump, and rearrange in particular ways in an attempt to match the example in the middle of the game board.

While there is only one ring to rule them all, there are a ton of Lord of the Rings games to rule them all!

The Lord of the Rings:  The Battle for Middle-Earth from Playroom Entertainment is a new edition to the extensive LotR card game options.  A fast-paced, two to four player game, Battle for Middle-Earth has players competing to form the strongest fellowship in order to fight off the armies and minions of Sauron.

You can never only eat one fortune cookie, you have to have all the Cookie Fu!

The newest take-out expansion for the stylish dice fighting game is called The Grand Buffet Pack and features dice for an entirely new faction, the Caramel Crane.  This complete two-player set contains new rules for multiplayer, special moves, and all the secret moves of the agile Caramel Crane.

All those chemistry classes you had to take in high school will finally pay off in Compounded!

Acting as lab managers, players work against the clock and their opponents to construct elements off of the periodic table.  But remember that your opponent may be looking for the same compounds you’re looking for.  Oh, and some of those can be rather flammable, capable of blowing you up if you don’t complete them in time.

Remember what the ancient monks always say:  Be the mechanic squirrel.

Or, at least, that’s what the monks within the FATE System RPG say.  The FATE System Toolkit book that released today with allow you to hack the rules of the game for your own nefarious purposes, especially when combined with the newly released Worlds books.  Worlds on Fire and Worlds in Shadow offer, between the two of them, twelve campaign settings, tailor-made to a number of different genres.

Fantasy Flight keeps the living card game market alive with two more releases in the Netrunner and The Lord of the Rings series.

As per usual, both decks come with sixty cards total, with the Second Thoughts Data Pack enhancing Corp and Runner decks while The Morgul Vale Adventure Pack provides an original scenario for players to work through.

As if the trailer park was not weird enough already, Terror in the Trailer Park adds a whole new layer of creepy to the cult hit Trailer Park Wars game.  Including purple “variable” flamingos and over one hundred cards to expand the base game in a horrifying way.

Dungeons and Dragons‘ second encounters adventure pack, Legacy of the Crystal Shard, is out this weekend.  An adventure for characters from first to third levels and compatible with 3.5. 4.0, and D&D Next systems.  The adventure can also be played as a weekly encounter campaign path, if you are so inclined.

-Warmachine Convergence of Cyriss figures, including Accretion Servitors and Steelsoul Protector.

-Restock on the Lupin III miniature game, based of of the hit anime.

-Cheap Shot, a rummy insult party game, and its expansion are both back in stock.

Grab the boards and nails, because Card of the Dead is here!

A draw and play card game set during the zombie apocalypse, Card of the Dead has players drawing action and item cards, playing them to secure themselves from the undead or to battle against them.  Obtaining and playing escape cards is how players win, activating end game after a specific amount have been played.  Or, if you’re the more gruesome type, you can simply see who outlasts everyone else.

Maximum Throwdown is EXACTLY what its name suggests.  From AEGMaximum Throwdown is a physically active card game where players literally throw cards (maximumly?) onto other cards.  However, this is more than a game of fifty-two card pickup, as each card includes icons and emblems that allow the player who threw them to earn special abilities if they’re uncovered.  As one might assume, the goal here is to cover your opponent’s card icons in order to deactivate their abilities while enhancing your own.

The assault has begun!

The fourth adventure pack in the Against the Shadow expansion set for the Lord of the Rings LCG game, Assault on Osgiliath, is out!  All stages of the battle between the Orcs and the Southrons rages onward, these expansion cards convey and detail the action, allowing players to work through the action in cooperative play!

The first deluxe expansion for the Star Wars living card game may be called Edge of Darkness, but it’s all about the grey side of the universe.  A total of 132 new cards expand the game’s objectives, adding an extra 32.  All of these center around two new factions, scum on the dark side and smugglers on the force side.  In short, that’s bounty hunters versus the colleges of Han Solo.

Emperor’s Chosen, the most recent supplement to Fantasy Flight’s Deathwatch series, separates the men from the boys, the chaff from the wheat, the Deathwatch from the Battle Brothers.  Among the Space Marines there are a faction of veteran warriors so revered, so reviled they have earned the title of Battle Brothers.  These daring few are what this supplemental hardcover is all about.  Let your players live the legacy of these unbeatable soldiers by picking up a copy of Emperor’s Chosen.

Avid science fiction junkies take note of Monte Cooke’s Numenera roleplaying system.  Just released, the core rulebook details the far distant future of the Ninth World, a vast world of ancient and advanced technology that houses what remains the human race.  While the Core Rulebook offers all the information about the setting, characters, adventures, and more (all detailed in eye-popping, painterly artwork), the Player’s Guide condenses the information necessary only to players, offering a concise sixty-four page booklet for players to devour.

Completing tonight’s trifecta of roleplaying books is Pathfinder‘s newest release, Mythic Adventures.  As the structures of mythology are as old as time, Mythic Adventures adapts these tropes and plots to the popular roleplaying system.  Players can adventure through mythic “paths” designed for their character, fighting mythic creatures, and casting mythic spells.  There’s a lot of mythic-ness going on here, basically.

Legacy: Gears of Time. Ah, there we go. Okay, hop back in…

Since there’s not many time travel games out there, I’m happy to say there’s a new one on the market. Players lay down technology cards…wait, I never said the name of this time travel game…let me jump in my time machine and…cool, now that that’s done…player’s lay down technology cards on a timeline attempting to influence the advancement of machines or impede and alter them. Lovers of the popular Chrononauts game should take a look.

Something you may want a time machine for is to travel into the future to watch The Hobbit trilogy which starts up this December. Sadly, that’s not going to happen, but at least you can play the story in the new Hobbit: Over Hill and Under Hill expansion pack for the Lord of the Rings LCG. The expansion contains three new scenarios set during the time period of The Hobbit stories as well as new heroes, treasures, and player cards that customize your gaming options. So, leave Bagend behind and come explore the mist mountains of The Hobbit.

Ph’nglui Mglw’nafth Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn!

Uh, excuse me, something in my throat. Anyway, who hasn’t wanted to build an eldar god from time to time? No one, that’s who. Well, your wish is Cthulhu’s command with the release of Building an Elder God. Players build their own Cthulhu-y creature to battle against other player’s creatures while healing your own. Playable in fifteen to thirty minutes with two to six players, this is the most fun way to go insane out there.

Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans – The list of threats is endless and no place in the universe is ever truly safe from danger, but there is one man who has made it his mission to defend the defenseless, help the helpless, and save everyone he can: a mysterious stranger, a force of nature who has seen his own planet die, a madman with a box.

In Doctor Who: The Card Game, players act as the Doctor and his companions to defend specific locations while sending the Doctor’s enemies to conquer locations your opponents are trying to protect.
