Yu Gi Oh Dice Masters Starter setSince Marvel’s Dice Masters game has been more than reasonably popular, WizKids and Asmodee have followed it up another starter set featuring characters from the anime series, Yu-Gi-Oh.  Like the previous releases, this starter set features enough dice and materials for two players to go head-to-head.  Each set of dice represent a character and players build-up teams of multiple characters by purchasing more dice.  And, yes, this set can be incorporated into any of the previous Dice Masters sets.A Game of Thrones A Deadly Game Chapter Pack

George R.R. Martin may not be getting the next Game of Thrones novel out in 2015, but Fantasy Flight is certainly continuing to release Chapter Packs for the A Game of Thrones LCG.  The newest, A Deadly Game, is the second release in the Wardens cycle.  This cycle is emphasizing traits, bonuses for using noteworthy characters, and limited responses, all Gripmat Starfield Sector Oneof which is continued in this release.

Do you get frustrated when you’re playing a game and someone accidentally knocks all the tiles or cards all over the table?  Well, you don’t have to worry about that if you pick up a GripMat.  Out this weekend, the Nebula and Starfield GripMats are durable, textured, fully illustrated mats that are intended to be used with a number of board games.  The texture on the mats keeps your tiles, cards, and game pieces from sliding around the table.  They also come in a variety of sizes and can be used with X-Wing and either version of Attack WingStar Trek Attack Wing Wave 10 11

Speaking of Attack Wing, WizKids has released the newest Star Trek Attack Wing wave of ships this weekend.  Included within this wave are the Romulan IRW Drone, the Federation Fighter Squadron 6 (comprised of three ships), and the Hirogen Alien Hunter.  Each expansion pack includes a model of the ship and Netrunner Order and Chaosthe cards needed to field it.

Like yin and yang, order and chaos balance each other out, especially in the third deluxe expansion for Netrunner LCG.  Named Order and Chaos, this expansion contains one hundred and sixty-five additional cards for use with the base game and any other expansions.  These cards introduce three new Anarchs that can be pitted against the machinations of the Weyland Corporation.

The popular XCOM PC game comes to the world of board gaming this weekend.  However, the game has not far from the digital world as it has incorporated a special app that controls certain XCOM The Board Gamemechanics, scenario options, and acts as the board game’s rulebook.  As you might imagine, the game increases in replay value as the app will keep every gameplay fresh with new arrangements of aliens and scenarios.  If you aren’t familiar with the original XCOM, players will assume the roles of an strikeforce organized to defend the Asanteplanet against alien invasion.

From the makers of other popular two player card games, including Jambo and Waka Waka, Asante (African for thank you) is another in the two player Kosmos line.  A set collection and hand management game, Asante puts players into the roles of vendors dealing in various resources.  Outside of collecting sets of resources for points, players can also loose animals (i.e. points) or visit holy relics to gain extra abilities.Mythotopia

Another new deck building game hits the market this weekend in the form of Mythotopia.  The standard deck building mechanics of a starting hand, a random assortment of cards to purchase, and various victory points are still present.  However, a set of variable providence cards provides the possibility of altering the rules and win conditions of the game.  Depending on which of these providence cards are activated, the game can also shift from a individualistic play experience to an aggressive Necron Codex HCone.

The wait is over, the Necron Codex has finally been updated.  This new hardcover edition features one hundred and twenty pages of material geared toward the newest iteration of Warhammer 40K rules.  Included in those pages are sections detailing the Necron Legions, new information on warlord traits, wargear, and tactical objectives, rules for the Decurion Detachment, datasheets, and the usually gallery of painted miniatures.

We heard you like skulls so we put some skulls in on your Khorne so you can cranium while you brain-i-em.

That’s the basic idea behind the Khorne Lord of Skulls figure on sale tomorrow.  I mean, just look at that guy!  He’s a rolling tank made of skulls!  Joining the Lord of Skulls this weekend are is the sixth edition hardcover for Apocalypse as well as the Strategic Asset cards to accompany it.  Along with those guys are the other Apocalypse accessories (sized EXTRA large) including the dice cube and templates.  Three terrain pieces previously included only in the Wall of Martyrs box set release individually, Firestorm Redoubt, Vengeance Weapon Battery, and the Aquila Stronghold.  Along with four new Space Marines captains (Marches, Rites, Relics, and Lord Executioner) there is a gigantic Necron Tesseract Vault arriving, as well.

Have you been searching for a way to squeeze a wrench-wielding, mechanic squirrel into your monthly roleplaying game and coming up dry?  Well, the Fate Core System book is here to answer your nutty wishes.  This Fate Core softcover supplies the necessary rules template and information to run any story your mind desires.  Maybe you don’t have the time to set-up an entire world and characters, though.  Maybe you have to teach a new player quickly or create a game for those last minute guests.  Fate Accelerated is the answer.  A condensed, easy set-up version of the main system, Fate Accelerated is ready to go for time constrained gamers!

If you’ve gotten tired of your Star Wars X-Wing ships tooling around a plastic or wood shaded galaxy, Gale Force 9 is here to help.  Releasing two new oversized, vinyl playmats (both wet erasable) legal distinguishable (but intended) for Star Wars and Star Trek miniature play.  The first being a Deathstar-esque design and the other a generalized nebula, reminiscent of the climactic battle of Wrath of Khan.

Ed Greenwood’s Forgotten Realms hardcover is all the fluff with none of the rules.  And, in this case, that’s a great thing!  This special hardcover volume includes each and every realm and setting in from the classic Forgotten Realms editions, but entirely system-free.  That’s right, you can apply these environments to any and all roleplaying systems.  So, you better make sure your Paladin packs his bag of holding, ’cause he’s got a lot of traveling to do.

Not only what you will be snacking upon while playing it, but also a key component of the game and the title, Beer & Pretzels is a fantastic new party game for lushes.  Or maybe just people putting a few back.  Either way, this game is made for the inebriated as it is super easy to learn.  Players take turns throwing coasters onto a nearby table, earning “money” points based on the type of pretzel displayed or beer (which double your points).  That’s it.  Some drinking may also be involved, based on the group.

Already existing in a galaxy close, close next to you, the (finally here!) Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook!  This long awaited Star Wars RPG core hardcover has been “Shipping Soon” from Fantasy Flight for nearly half a year, keeping players waiting with baited bantha breath.  Well, now it’s here, in all its glory, along with the nifty Game Master’s Kit.  Yes, we know this came out last week, but due to lightspeed travel and store employee travel, this isn’t being posted until tonight.

Finally, tonight, the kingdom is expanding!

Kingdom Builder:  Crossroads is the most recent expansion for the mega-popular game, including four entirely original landscapes and two location spaces.  Both of these additions allow players to expand and grow the kingdom in entirely new ways!  Task cards are also included, which require that players build their kingdoms in a specific direction, adding a new layer of challenge to the game.

Pssst.  You guys over there.  You want to see something cool?

Okay, that could be construed in a creepy way.

Skipping that, here’s some totally sweet, exclusive Munchkin product.  Emphasize exclusive there, because Pulp is the only store IN THE COUNTRY to carry these items currently.

The first of these oh-so-special items are two Munchkin Dice Bags.  Both bags have a special game rule printed on their sides (“When you take a Munchkin D6 out of [this bag] and roll it, the Munchkin head counts as a 7, not a 1″), in classic Munchkin style.  One is pink, one is tan; the tan one also comes with the benefit of two promo cards, Blind Chance and Bag of Hoarding.  The second Munchkin goodie is this year’s Christmas booster pack, Reindeer Games.  Like the previous Christmas booster expansions, this one includes 15 new cards to be played with the base Munchkin game.  And we have it waaaaay before anyone else.

Another member of the exclusive Pulp Fiction VIP super club of awesome (named it myself), the Steve Jackson Zombie Dice Dice Bag.  Carry the most addictive dice game known to man in style with this matching dice bag.

Another two-fer shout out, this time from Dungeons & Dragons, Heroes of the Feywild and the Dragon Miniature Collector’s Set.  The first has a unicorn on the cover.

Oh, you needed to know more?  What more could you want to know?  Okay, okay, the Feywild is a wonderous, luminous setting that suits happy-go-lucky gamers who desire less doom and gloom in their campaigns.  This hardcover entails every detail DMs and players will need to know about character creation (races, classes, powers, feats, etc.) as well as numerous details about the inhabitants of the world.

And if horned ponies ain’t your thing, turn your gaze to the Dragon Miniature Collector’s Set.  As the D&D Miniature series has been discontinued, the only way to grab hold of any miniature offerings these days is with a collection such as this.  As the title declares, this set comes packed with five of the famous dragon colors (green, blue, red, white, black) and their coordinating stat cards.

The Necrons have risen from their slumber.  You’ve been waiting for it, bidding your time with Space Marines and Imperial Guard, counting the seconds.  Well, wait no more.  Tomorrow the new Necron miniatures are here.  That means the Codex, the Necron Warriors, the Necron Immortals, the Doomsday Ark/Ghost Ark, C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer and C’tan Shard of the Deceiver, plus a whole Monolith more.  They’ve got a new look, a new rule set, and a new bag.

Stare at you own peril.

Seriously, dangerous.

Another of Terry Pratchett‘s beloved stories has been transferred to the world of the board game.  This time around it’s Discworld:  Ankh-Morpork.  Players battle over control of the titled city, minus its former ruler, Lord Vetinari.  No one knows what the other players are attempting to do to win, so everything is in chaos as players slap down cards to decide where their minions are placed and where buildings are erected.  Cards and characters are pulled directly from Pratchett‘s popular series of humorous novels, so fans of the series will surely get some joy out of the cameos and references.

Gambling?

I’m in!

As is the new Red Dragon Inn expansion of the same name (Gambling?  I’m In!).  Famous for its adaptability as a drinking game, Red Dragon Inn can now become even more scandalous with the nine different mini-games included in this expansion.  All nine games can be played stand-alone, if desired, or combined with the base game to replace the Rounds of Gambling.  The box also includes all the Rogues and Warriors cards that will be required to play these games of chance.

Flagons up!
