The GoddamnedThe Goddamned #1

-Personally vouched for by Dennis Hopeless as the best script he’s ever read from Jason Aaron.

-Local creator Jason Aaron (Thor, Dr. Strange, Star Wars, Southern Bastards) reteams with R.M. Guera, his artist from Scalped!

-Set nearly 2000 years after the Garden of Eden, The Goddamned takes place on a wild, chaotic, barbaric Earth.  Prior to the flood, humanity is vicious and violent.

-Pitched as Conan meets the Bible.

Limbo #1 (of 6)Limbo

-Take a chance on two creators new to Image Comics!

-Drenched in eighties nostalgia and neon!

-Essentially a detective narrative, Limbo is set in a fictional city that is suffocating the lead character (a P.I. with no memory or name) as he attempts to locate the femme fatale.

-Supernatural elements, like voodoo, collide with crime fiction.

-All New Hawkeye may have the same creative team, but its cast receives a major shake-up!  Old Clint Barton from the Old Man Logan world teams up with a mature Kate Bishop to right wrongs.

-Speaking of shake-ups, Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us, Earth 2, Superior Iron Man) introduces X-23 as Wolverine in All New Wolverine!

All New All Different Marvel November Part 2The Ultimates

Batman:  Joker’s Daughter #1 (One-shot)

-Not, we say NOT, written by Anne Nocenti, the writer who handled the Joker’s Daughter Villains Month issue (and for those who read it, you know why we’d mention this)!

-Instead, a better female writer, the up-and-coming Marguerite Bennett (a pupil of Scott Snyder), takes the reins.

-This one-shot issue further explores the twisted origins of the woman calling herself The Joker’s Daughter, as she continues her attempts at controlling the sewers and underground waterways of Gotham City.

-Bennett wrote the rather good Batman Annual #2 from last year as well as the Lobo Villains Month issue, showing a talent for constructing tight, focused done-in-one stories.

Punisher #1

-Nathan Edmondson has already delivered a successful All New Marvel NOW! series in the form of Black Widow.  What will he do with the Marvel Universe‘s most infamous vigilante?

-Frank Castle needs a change of scenery as he head’s out West.  A major crime syndicate has arisen in L.A., and The Punisher is hot on their trail.

-Edmondson excels at espionage tales as well as action narratives (as the first couple issues of Black Widow attest), so his style is perfectly suited to The Punisher.

-Oh, and did we mention that Frank’s not the only one on the hunt?  He’s got a mafia hit squad chasing him as he chases their bosses.

Loki, Agent of Asgard #1

-Forget Thor, we all know Loki‘s the real reason anyone goes to see any movie set in Asgard.

-With a brand new body, Loki is more mischievous than ever and ready to put that talent for mischief to good use.

-Al Ewing, who is writing the hell out of Mighty Avengers right now, unleashes his pure fun, classic Marvel style onto the Asgardian section of the universe.

-As an Agent of Asgard, this series will see Loki sent on covert missions, missions that rely on his talent for trickery.

Ms. Marvel #1

-Following in the footsteps of Kelly Sue Deconnick’s cult favorite Captain Marvel series, Ms. Marvel adds another Marvel series written by women for women about women.

-Kamala Khan is an entirely new hero for an All New Marvel NOW! era, both a teenager and a Muslim, Kamala adds some needed diversity to the Marvel Universe.

-A perfect entry point for teen readers, Ms. Marvel finds Kamala trying to balance an overbearing father, new superpowers, and the regular hormonal difficulties of high school.

-G. Willow Wilson (Air, Cairo) and Adrian Alphona (The Runaways, Uncanny X-Force) are, possibly, the most exciting creator pairing in the entire All New Marvel NOW! relaunch!

The Mighty Avengers #1

-The Avengers are away and Thanos is here to play!  He plays a little rough, though.

-Marvel finally listened to fans and is providing a series with a little diversity to it!  When was the last time you saw three black superheroes on a team with only one white hero?  Yeah, never.  Glad to say it happens here.

-Join Pulp for the Launch Party of this book on Wednesday!  Each copy purchased earns you a special Mighty Avengers trading card!  Also, be on the lookout for a number of special variant covers, including one by fan-favorite Skottie Young!

Sons of Anarchy #1

-The cult favorite FX series, Sons of Anarchy, continues in this limited miniseries from Boom Studios!

-Having cultivated a selection of intelligent, faithful series of comics adapted from television and film (like Adventure Time, Robocop, and Eureka), Boom! is the perfect publisher to handle this series!

-Tig must protect the daughter of a former SAMCO member at all costs!

-Christopher Golden, a popular sci-fi and fantasy novelist, is in charge of this adaptation, making sure to stay faithful to the characters and feel of the show.

East of West v.1 tpb

-Written by author of Manhattan Projects, Infinity, Avengers, New Avengers, God is Dead, and Secret, Jonathan Hickman!

-Set in an alternate universe where the four horsemen of the apocalypse have descended upon the Earth, technology has advanced to a unbelievable level, and the country was shattered into factions following the civil war.

-Death, of the four horsemen, has returned and his hellbent on revenge against those who thought they’d killed him many years before.  And what have they done with his lover and child?

-A perfect entry point for the series, this first volume collects issues 1-5 for the low price of $9.99!

DC Villain’s Month Week 2

-This week sees the release of thirteen more villain-centric titles in both 2D and 3D covers (though the latter are bound to go fast!).

-If you’ve been reading Batman Zero Year by Scott Snyder, you’re definitely going to want to snag the Riddler issue as it is written by Snyder, himself, and drawn by local favorite, Jeremy Haun!

-Geoff Johns lends his creative keyboard to the story for the Black Manta issue this week.  If you picked up Forever Evil #1, you know that Manta has just been broken out of prison and given Aquaman‘s trident.  What will he do next?

-Other notable baddies this week include Harley Quinn (written by St. Louis native, Matt Kindt), Lobo (the first appearance of a radically new design), and Zod (written by Batman/Superman writer, Greg Pak)
