Got eight minutes to spare?

Why not play Eight-Minute Empire: Legends?  The second stand-alone release in this line, Legends is literally playable in eight minutes, ready-made for quick gaming in between gaming.  The game involves players picking cards off of six piles, with each card providing a special action to perform immediately after.

Three new ships pull into the Star Trek Attack Wing docking bay this weekend, including the USS Excelsior for the Federation, RIS Vo from the Romulan alliance, and Dominion’s Koranak vessel.

Who you gonna call?  Yourself!

Ghooost! is family friendly, easily travel-able card matching game where players try to get rid of their hand of cards by matching suits with cards previously laid down.  Players pull from their “mansion” for new cards, hoping for cards with special abilities that allow them to lay more cards or enact other actions.  The whole game also comes in a handy carrying box that folds out into the game board.

Gamer couples searching for a new two player experience need look no further than Pixel Tactics and Pixel Tactics 2.

Head-to-head battling is the name of the game, stemming from each player controlling an identical deck of cards, but assigning a specific leader card to the deck that entirely alters how each card plays.  This allows for twenty-five different variations on the standard deck.  And don’t worry about picking these initially releases up in order, they are both stand-alone and can be played in any order.

The fifth large expansion for the Warhammer:  Invasion LCG card game, Hidden Kingdoms, fleshes out the remaining factions that have, up until now, not seen play in the game.  These include Skaven, Lizardmen, Wood Elves, and Undead, each of which has been built-up to a full faction.

The Mayan apocalypse may never have come, but that hasn’t stopped Tzolk’in from producing an expansion to end all expansions.  Tribes and Prophecies not only adds enough pieces to include a fifth player, but also alters the gaming experience entirely by allowing each player to take command of tribe leaders that grant them abilities beyond the normal selection.

Space is a vast and endless place, which means Rio Grand Games has plenty of universe to produce a fifth Race for the Galaxy expansion from.  Alien Artifacts adds a fifth playable deck onto the base game, as well as five additional start worlds.  Along with these extra pieces, the expansion contains another gaming mode where players map an alien “orb” searching for artifacts that gain them extra powers.

For the penultimate game item, Pathfinder, like a Pokemon trainer on a winning spree, continues to evolve their dragons.  This time around, it’s the Red Dragon Evolution set of miniatures.

And, basically, that’s kinda it…

Like there’s three dragons.

And some are bigger than others.

But they’re all red…

Yup…

Anyway, the ‘verse is never done offering up rewards for determined, swindly captains, especially ones experienced in Breakin’ Atmo.

The first expansion deck for the beloved Firefly board game, Breakin’ Atmo, supplies players with twenty-five new jobs, supply cards, and shiploads of gear!  Shiny don’t even begin to describe this valuable bobble!

Bro hooves all around, the My Little Pony Collectible Card game has finally arrived, 20% cooler than you expected!

Reaching a Cataclysm, the Warhammer Invasion releases its fourth deluxe expansion this weekend.

Cataclysm is a unique expansion for this formerly two player Living Card Game, as it expands the playable options to include two more players, kicking the gaming total up to four.   In addition, the expansion contains six fulcrum cards and 159 player cards.

The student becomes the master in Star Wars:  The Balance of the Force.

This second deluxe expansion for the Fantasy Flight LCG game provides alternate rules for the game that introduce two new styles of play.  These include a team based variant, which pits two against two, as well as a unique challenge deck style of play that is narratively driven.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, Get Bit! Deluxe surfaces!

A redesign of the popular family game, Get Bit! Deluxe features character designs on each of the four victims, as well as uniquely illustrated cards to go along with them.  As well, the new version comes packed in a compact, carrying tin.  And if you’re not familiar with the game, its all about pushing your buddy into the path of the hungry shark on your tail.

Keyflower, the resource management game wherein players develop their own villages over a four season period, receives its first expansion in, The Farmers.  As the title suggests, The Farmers expansion adds an agricultural pursuit to the game as players construct farming compounds, grow crops, and acquire livestock.  These components also interact with the board from the base gaming, altering the playability and layout of the original game.

Grab your mittens, because tonight we’re going to be Russian it!

That pun would work so much better if this first item related to Russia in some way.

Hmm…the Doctor has traveled through all of time and space, so he must have visited Russia at some point. And when he did, without a doubt he arrived in his “sexy”, or TARDIS, for the uninformed. You, too, can get the warm fuzzies from this time and space traveling vehicle if you pick up the new TARDIS Plush coming out this Wednesday. Give the police box a hug and it will reciprocate with the standard VOOSH, VOOSH and light blinking associated with the time machine. Keep your plush Dalek company by picking this guy up.

The title pretty much says it all for this next one. That’s right, folks, Fanboys vs. Zombies drops this Wednesday with a gurgling, meaty thud. With Sam Humpries, writer of the brilliant Our Love is Real one-shot, penning the series, a setting rich with humour and heavy objects with which to bash the undead, and a cover price of $1, there is absolutely no reason to skip this book! Seriously, it’s costumed nerds and nerdettes smashing and slicing zombified geeks, how can you go wrong?

Arriving back on shelves after a long printing hiatus, Flex Mentallo, one of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely earliest creations. This deluxe edition reprints all of Flex’s psychedelic appearances in Doom Patrol as well as his own miniseries. Since the character as been under legal contention for a number of years, it’s a wonderful reward to see this cult classic series be reprinted in a hardcover, deluxe edition. Grab it before it disappears again.

The first rule of Danger Club is that we…DO talk about Danger Club. A lot, actually. Why? Because this book looks like a hell of a good time! Written by the team behind recent children’s comic successes like Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade and Batman Brave and the Bold, Danger Club rocks the epic! With the world’s greatest superheroes vanishing into space with the threat of an oncoming alien invasion on the horizon, the world’s sidekicks are left as the planet’s only defense. Violence, gore, and apocalyptic action spill out of the the beautifully vivid artwork and riveting narrative. Miss out on it and you miss out on the next Image Comics success story.

To give you an idea of what these are like, imagine a horde of monkies with jetpacks high on cocaine. That will give you a slight idea of the insanity inherent in running a Magic Pre-Release.
