Smallworld Pocket EncyclopediaWe know everyone is working to flesh out their Pokedex on Pokemon Go, but this weekend Days of Wonder is dropping their own encyclopedia for Small World.  The Small World Pocket Encyclopedia is a must-buy for all of the Small World purists and collectors out there.  A smartly designed, pocket sized  hardcover volume, the Small World Pocket Encyclopedia contains not only a full set of easy-access rules for the game, but also an FAQ, designer notes, and, most importantly, sixty-three individual entries detailing every race and special power from the base game and all of the expansions. The Grizzled At Your Order

Only the truly rough, tough, and resilient survived during the Great War.  The same applies to The Grizzled.  A strategic cooperative card game set during World War I, The Grizzled receives its first expansion set this weekend.  At Your Orders! provides additional special missions for players to complete during gameplay, both in experienced and novice versions to satisfy new and old gamers alike.  Even more exciting, At Your Orders! also provides expanded rulesets for two player or solo play for the original base game.

Stellar ConflictLike an expanded, card game version of Galaga, Stellar Conflict is another card game set in the Among the Stars universe.  Taking place over two tense, speedy rounds, Stellar Conflict plays for ten minutes with two to four players.  In round one, players swiftly select ships from a variety of options, choosing them based off of their abilities and availability.  Once that round is complete, these ships are deployed against an invading fleet of alien cruisers that must be vanquished by the armada you have chosen.  Hopefully you haven’t chosen poorly.Mysterium Hidden Signs

You thought you’d solved the mystery and escaped the Mysterium.  You were wrong.  Mysterium:  Hidden Signs is the first expansion for the popular horror tinged game, Mysterium.  Expanding the options and gameplay, this set includes six suspects, six locations, and six objects to deepen the gameplay.  Forty-two new vision cards are also included in order to provide players with a range of new communication options.  Also, if you manage to grab the first printing of this expansion, you’ll receive three promo cards that can be used in the base game.

Rick and Morty Total RickallCryptozoic capitalizes on the extreme popularity of Adult Swim‘s Rick and Morty series with the first card game based on the show.  Featuring a quick learning curve, Rick and Morty:  Total Rickall plays well with two to five players over the course of twenty to thirty minutes.  Always ready to skewer pop culture, Rick and Morty:  Total Rickall is a play off of The Thing, with Rick and Morty attempting to cleanse their house of shapshifting parasites that have disguised themselves as friends and family.  Work your way through these opponents, but be careful not to eliminate the real versions!Kitty Paw

There is never enough cute cat games in the world.  Proving that fact, Kitty Paw is a new dexterity and reaction game out this weekend.  For audiences young and old, Kitty Paw is a one to four player game that can take anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes to play.  In the game, players rush to draw and play various cat cards in order to match a designated pattern assigned at the beginning of the round.  Of course, that’s too simple.  Players also will be forced to use only one “cat paw” when drawing and playing X-Wing Star Wars Imperial Veteransthese cards as well as pulling from the same draw pile as all other players.

Be ready to get those Tie-Fighter sound effects stuck in your head, because Fantasy Flight has just released another Empire expansion for the X-Wing miniature game.  In Imperial Veterans, players receive two ships, the Crimson Tie and the Tie-Bomber.  The former is all about nimble movement and swift attacking, while the latter hits opponents with a painful barrage of explosives.  This expansion contains all of the materials for players to use either or both ships in their next X-Wing game.

New Game Stuff, what?  Where have you been?  I know, I know.

Cultists and CthulhusIt’s hard to find good help if you’re a cultist nowadays.  Or, at least, that’s what Cultists & Cthulhus would have you believe.  Brimming with the nerdy, cynically tinged humor shared by Munchkin and Chez Geek, Cultists & Cthulhus has players controlling rival cult leaders.  Each player attempts to round up followers, enact rituals, and (with hope) summon their very own old one.  Any two to eight Lovecraft fans will have a great time when they pick up a copy of Cultists & Cthulhus. My Little Pony Marks in Time booster

Eventually, every popular nerd series delves into time travel.  It’s just an unwritten rule.  Well, My Little Pony ventures into that timey wimey realm with the newest expansion set for the MLP collectible card game, Marks in Time.  Since the set is themed around time travel and alternate realities, players will find updated, younger, or irregular versions of classic cards and ponies in the set.

Agricola RevisedWait, Agricola?  That’s been out forever.  But there you would be wrong.  For one, Agricola has been out of print for a good deal a time, so having any version back in print is a good thing.  Second, this version of the game is an updated and revised edition.  Agricola Revised now features wooden game pieces and a streamlined rulebook that allows the game to play quicker and easier for younger players.  Fans of Settlers of Catan, San Juan, and Puerto Rico, if you’ve never played Agricola, now is the time.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dice Masters TMNT

Long awaited by all heroes in a half-shell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dicemasters set is finally out!  This oversized base set includes enough materials for two or four players, depending on how you divide the resources.  Featuring the artwork and character designs from various eras of TMNT, the game is playable by all ages.  As the game features the same popular mechanics of Quarriors and the other Dicemasters editions, TMNT Dicemasters can be combined with any of the previous sets.  So, if you want Star Wars Galactic Ambitions expansonyou can have Leonardo face off against Spider-Man and Harley Quinn!

Another in the line of beloved Star Wars The Card Game expansions, Galactic Ambitions is out this weekend.  Featuring five new objective sets for both the Sith and Rebel factions, Galactic Ambitions is a major addition to the base game.  Not only do the Sith and Rebel factions receive new objectives, but every other faction also gains one extra objective set.  Among those new cards, there is not only another version of Darth Vader, but also Star Wars Rebels‘ Kanan Jarrus!Eternal Masters Magic the Gathering

Finally, if you’re a Magic player and haven’t been living under a rock in the realm of Zendikar, you’ll have been salivating for the release of Eternal Masters.  Out this weekend, Eternal Masters is the follow-up to the two Modern Masters sets that raised such a fuss in the Magic world.  Reprinting cards from the very beginning of Magic the Gathering, but in never-before-seen foil versions, this set is seriously desired by any die hard Magic player.  Boxes are limited and the price point will rise swiftly as the set goes out of print, so grab what you can, while you can.

Game of Thrones House Stark playmatEven though the members of the various Game of Thrones houses may be dwindling thanks to stabbings, dragon flames, beheadings, and other grisly forms of death, you can still represent them with the brand new Fantasy Flight playmats out this weekend.  Each playmat features the sigil of a house, including Stark, Targaryen, and Lannister.  Perfect for Magic the Gathering, the A Game of Thrones LCG game, or any other card game where you don’t want everything to slide all over the table.Waka Tanka

If you can look past the racism of Waka Tanka (trust us, the previous box art was worse), then you’ll probably have a great time with this bluffing game for three to six players.  In the game, players control shamans from the Sioux Nation, each attempting to conjure spirits in order to commune with them.  Each turn, players lay a spirit card face down in front of that spirit’s totem.  The catch is that a player is allowed to put down a card that does not match, something they’ll get away with Storyline Fairy Talesif no other player calls them on it.  Get rid of all your cards to claim victory.

Once upon a time there was a storytelling game that was not called Once Upon a Time and added mechanics from Apples to Apples.  That game was called Storyline Fairy Tales.  The first in a series of group storytelling games, Fairy Tales allows three to eight build their own fable with over 100 cards labeled with characters, locations, actions, and so forth.  Each player takes turns as the “narrator,” asking other players for a character or place or some other card descriptor.  The other players then place down their selection, leading to the narrator choosing the best one.  In the future, expansions will provide cards for other styles of story outside of fairy tales. My First Stone Age

The resource management game Stone Age is a great time for adults, but a little overly complicated and lengthy for children.  Z-Man games and designer Marco Teubner have solved that problem with My First Stone Age.  A kid friendly version of the game, My First Stone Age still involves two to four players moving figure around the board, collecting cute, wooden resources, and using them to construct their own settlements.  Unlike the original version of the game, My First Stone Age also plays in fifteen minutes, meaning a distracted child doesn’t have to pay attention that long in order to enjoy the experience.

Munchkin Playmat Spyke Gets SuckeredSteve Jackson Games is nothing if not committed to bringing players every possible iteration on products related to Munchkin.  With that in mind, the Munchkin Playmat drops this weekend.  A valuable tool to help organize any game of Munchkin (and if you’ve played you know all of those cards can get unwieldy), the Munchkin Playmat designates spaces for class, headgear, race, unequipped items, and many other card types in the game.  These spots along with a level gauge help to keep players’ multitude of cards ordered and organized.Epic Card Game Tyrants

In the vein of White Wizard Games other popular deck-based card game, Star Realms, the Epic card game receives four booster pack expansions this weekend.  Epic Tyrants is made up of four booster pack expansions that contribute thirteen new cards to the game, each themed around a Tyrant character.  The four options are Draka’s Rage, Helion’s Deceit, Raxxa’s Doctor PanicRevenge, and Markus’ Command.

You’ve heard of the classic board game Operation.  Well, Doctor Panic is the next generation relative of that game, a blend of app-based, cooperative, and time trial.  Made for families of all-ages, Doctor Panic plays in only twelve minutes!  Yes, you and your other players have twelve minutes to complete a variety of medical procedures and clean-up activities.  Download the free Doctor Panic app and incorporate it into the game as well.Adroid Mainframe

Over the last few years, Fantasy Flight has grown a variety of games around their elaborate, cyberpunk universe of Android.  A spin-off of the popular Netrunner series, Android Mainframe is a completely different take on that universe and game mechanics intended for two to four players.  A placement game at it’s heart, Android Mainframe has players assuming the role of a Runner and using various character tiles, linking rods, and various cards to attempt to gain control of various evil corporations’ computer systems by “hacking in.”

Here Kitty KittyTonight, Pulp Fiction is announcing that we will no longer be selling comics or board games.  Instead, we will be exclusively selling cats and cat-related items.

Cat game number two, is Tem Purr A, a push-your-luck game about glutinous cats.  Taking place at an all cat Japanese eating contest, Tem Purr A has three to seven players laying down numbered cards to try and out-eat other players.  However, other players can shove food down your throat and possibly cause you Adventure Time Card Wars Fionna vs Cakeindigestion.  Even worse, pushing your luck too far can lead to death.

Our final cat game (though we have plenty of other human games) is the newest Adventure Time Card Wars collector’s pack.  Much beloved, Fionna and Cake finally receive their own decks!  Like other collector’s packs, Fionna and Cake comes with two completely built forty card decks, each centered around one of the titular characters.  Fans of Adventure Time who have never played Card Wars need not worry, the Fionna and Cake collector’s pack provides everything new players need to begin.Pax Porfiriana

Head on down Mexico way with the Pax Porfiriana Collector’s Edition.  Set before the Mexican Revolution, Pax Porfiriana is a competitive experience for one to six players, where everyone is attempting to take control of the country, using resources to tip the balance of power in their favor.  Use Pancho Villa’s bandits, political allies, pesos, and more to manipulate your way to the top.  This version of the game not only expands the experience for up to six players, but also includes two new gaming boards to help organize everything.

Greedy Greedy GoblinsFrom the makers of Smash-Up and more, AEG, comes Greedy Greedy Goblins.  A fast moving tile-laying game, Greedy Greedy Goblins is a competitive game, but one that has players drawing and laying tiles simultaneously.  Tiles are drawn and placed face down on each player’s respective cave board, then, once the tiles are depleted, players commence using dynamite and other tokens to mine their cave for loot.  If the name didn’t clue you in, the wealthiest goblin wins.Game of Thrones The Trivia Game

Before the next season premieres, brush up on your Game of Thrones knowledge with Fantasy Flight‘s new Game of Thrones:  The Trivia Game.  Set up similar to Trivial Pursuit, Game of Thrones:  The Trivia Game includes over 1200 cards, each with house-centric sets of questions from seasons one to four.  Players will have to ascend their way to the Iron Throne by answering particular progressions of house related questions to move up the board and attain glory.

Eminent Domain BattlecruisersEminent Domain claims plenty of territory this weekend with not one, but two releases.  Eminent Domain:  Exotica is an expansion for the base game that includes thirty tokens that present new technologies, a promo pack that allows players to combine Exotica with Escalation, and optional scenarios.  Eminent Domain:  Battlecruisers, the second release, is a completely stand-alone card game set in the universe.  Designed to be played in twenty minutes with three to five players, Battlecruisers is a bluffing game where cards that are played one turn can still effect the outcome a turn later.

We began with cute, cuddly kittens and we wrap up with terrifying, blood-curdling xenomorphs. Aliens vs Predator The Hunt Begins AVP:  The Hunt Begins is a ton of miniatures, tiles, tokens, and gaming goodness set in the Aliens/Predator universe.  Players take control of either Alien, Predator, or Ultra Marine forces, navigating a dangerous space station.  Each force is gunning for the other, with all of them represented by detailed miniatures.  A gorgeously designed, intricate experience, AVP:  The Hunt Begins is essential for any avid fan of the franchise needs to own.

Star Wars RebellionStar Wars.  Fantasy Flight.  Rebellion.  It’s freaking huge.  You know you want it.  Outside of that, Star Wars:  Rebellion is a massive miniature war game that pits the Empire and Rebellion forces against each other across a galaxy far, far away.  Both forces are represented by carefully crafted miniatures of the Death Star, Star Destroyers, A-Wings, X-Wings, and much, much more.  Balance your forces, choose how to deploy them, and dominate or free the galaxy.  The choice is yours.
