Evolution FlightSurvival of the fittest takes to the air in the newest expansion for the popular card game Evolution.  In the game players develop animal species, evolving them with various cards in order to out-hunt and out-evade other animals.  The Evolution Flight expansion introduces avian species into the ecosystem.  Now your species can swoop on unsuspecting prey from above, fly away from predators, or soar to a new location when The Treachery of Rhudaur Lord of the Ringsfood is scarce.

Containing sixty fixed cards, The Treachery of Rhudaur adventure pack for the Lord of the Rings living card game adds cards 84-114 of the Angmar Awakened cycle.  The contents of the pack are designed to augment existing decks and to provide players with an entirely new scenario Warhammer Conquest The Great Devourerupon which their heroes can adventure.

In the grim darkness of the far future, Warhammer 40k Conquest is a competitive card game for two players.  The Great Devourer deluxe expansion introduces the Tyranids faction to the game with new warlords, units, attachments, and supports.  Additional cards are also included for every faction in the Samuraicore set, featuring powerful new units.

Long out of print, Samurai has been brought back by Fantasy Flight, and at a cheaper price!  In Samurai, players assume the role of power-hungry daimyo vying for control of Japan.  By gaining the loyalty of lesser lords, seizing the land’s primary sources of rice, and trading favors with religious leaders, the players can grow their dominion and muster the samurai to cement their claim.

A  new spin on the civilization game, Hyperborea, from Asmodee, sends players into a newly discovered realm of myth and magic.  The goal of the game is to construct your own kingdom using various colored cubes, each representing different resources.  Where Asmodee has changed the dynamic up is with how players receive the cubes.  Each turn, players dig into a bag and pull out three Car Wars Steve Jacksonrandom cubes.

Steve Jackson‘s classic car versus car game has been reprinted this weekend in a new, updated version.  Car Wars basically allows players to live out the Road Warrior or Death Race 2000 by constructing their own dystopic roadsters and beating the crap out of each other.  Two to eight players construct their cars from the components included in the game, then battle for thirty minutes to decide the victor!Knightmare Chess

Steve Jackson‘s second rerelease this weekend is the updated version of Knightmare Chess.  Essentially, a variation of chess played with cards, Knightmare Chess does require a foreknowledge of chess to play.  However, those familiar with chess will love how the game is changed-up with the inclusion of cards.  During, after, or before turns players are allowed to Castles of the Mad King Ludwigplay cards from the set, with some drastically altering the move capabilities of pieces.

The Castles of Mad King Ludwig are renowned for their extravagance and grandeur, and now you have to surpass them all.  In Castles of Mad King Ludwig, players attempt to construct the most elaborate castle possible one room (one tile) at a time.  A single player takes the role of the Master Builder, who gets to decide the cost of each room tile, while the other players attempt to purchase the best option.  However, the Master Builder can only use the leftover tiles.  Walled City Londonderry and Borderlands

Walled City:  Londonerry and Borderlands finds players building a city from the ground up.  Divided into two separate rounds of gameplay, Walled City begins with a round of laying streets tiles, which separate the game board into sections.  Players then populate the sections with citizens.  During round two, walls are constructed and guarded by watchmen meeples.  Whoever has the most populated section reigns victorious.  And for more replay value, the game includes two Koryo card gameentirely different maps.

Set in a steampunk universe, Koryŏ, from Asmodee Games, is an easy to learn and expedient card game for two to four players.  Lasting only eight turns, has players laying down cards each turn, but only from a particular political family.  Each family is comprised of a certain number of cards, which can be utilized for powerful abilities and victory points.

The Doctor Who Roleplaying Game has regenerated again!Sixth Doctor Sourcebook Doctor Who

Out this weekend, the Sixth Doctor Sourcebook contains the same great materials as each of the previous volumes.  Providing the materials necessary for game masters to run a game involving the Sixth Doctor,  his companions, and enemies, the sourcebook has detailed outlines of every episode starring the Sixth Doctor, each playable as an adventure.  As well, stats are provided for key characters, monsters, and Commander Decks 2014companions, along with setting details.

Another set of five Commander Decks have been released for Magic the Gathering.

These Commander Decks are each structured around the five mana colors (black, red, white, green, blue), but include a new variant for the popular format.  Only included in these decks are special Planeswalker cards that can be used as Commanders, a possibility that was previously illegal.  As per usual, these decks contain 100 cards for a deck that is playable in the EDH/Commander format.

This card-based expansion adds forty evolution cards to the base game.  These cards are split into character and progress cards, each increasing the interactivity and conflict of the game more than the original evolution cards, which these new cards can replace entirely if you choose.

The Coming Storm Legend of the Five RingsThe storm is no longer coming, it is here!  The first expansion set for the Legend of the Five Rings relaunch, The Coming Storm follows up the popular Ivory Edition set of boosters.  As with that previous set, The Coming Storm continues to emphasize draft mechanics with its 156 new, playable cards.

The fifth wave of expansion ships launches this weekend with three entirely new ships for three separate factions.  First up, the Tactical Borg Cube, featuring heavier armor than the regular Borg ship.  Next up is the Vulcan D’Kyr class ship, a classic combat cruiser for the Vulcan High Command.  Finally, the Bajoran Interceptor 5, a towing and protection ship for the empire, rounds out the trio.

Travel down the rabbit hole with Fantasy Flight‘s Winter Tales.

Winters Tales board gameCombining storytelling mechanics and traditional board gaming, Winter Tales drops players into a fantasy world populated by characters from The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, and more.  Players determine the course of the story, deciding where the game will progress and how it will by laying story cards.  Considering that the players and cards shape the course of the game, each play through is entirely unique from the previous one.

Expanding outward from Africa, players strategically lay tiles representing various technologies and resources across the globe.  Dependent on size, thickness, and color, these tiles will contribute different effects to the game and each player.  Set collection and area management combine within the rise of the human species!

A diplomacy game revolving around five different aspects, Moral Conflict 1939 pits nations, i.e. players, against each other in a battle on various fronts.  Players have to balance their control in the theaters of war, economics, diplomacy, technology, and internal balancing or morally honest and corrupt acts.

Fear and loathing in Netrunner Vegas is not the official name of the most recent Data Pack release, but it totally should have been.  Regardless of the lack of Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing does include sixty new cards to add to the base game and expand the ever-present hacker battle.

The Lord of the Rings:  The Voice of Isengard is the third deluxe expansion for the Fantasy Flight LCG series!  It’s time to shift over to the dark side in this expansion, as players join with Saruman the White in three entirely new scenarios relying on two new hero cards.

The zombie pandemic spreads even further with Last Night on Earth:  Blood in the Forest!

This expansion can be added to the original base game or Timber Peak, continuing to explore Experience system as well as expanding the forest itself with new board pieces and zombie types.

Straight from the Land of Ooo into your own home, comes the original Adventure Time card game, Card Wars!

Coming out this week are two beginner deck sets, including Finn vs. Jake and BMO vs. Lady Rainicorn!  Each of these feature two forty card decks that can be combined or played as is!

Got eight minutes to spare?

Why not play Eight-Minute Empire: Legends?  The second stand-alone release in this line, Legends is literally playable in eight minutes, ready-made for quick gaming in between gaming.  The game involves players picking cards off of six piles, with each card providing a special action to perform immediately after.

Three new ships pull into the Star Trek Attack Wing docking bay this weekend, including the USS Excelsior for the Federation, RIS Vo from the Romulan alliance, and Dominion’s Koranak vessel.

Who you gonna call?  Yourself!

Ghooost! is family friendly, easily travel-able card matching game where players try to get rid of their hand of cards by matching suits with cards previously laid down.  Players pull from their “mansion” for new cards, hoping for cards with special abilities that allow them to lay more cards or enact other actions.  The whole game also comes in a handy carrying box that folds out into the game board.

Gamer couples searching for a new two player experience need look no further than Pixel Tactics and Pixel Tactics 2.

Head-to-head battling is the name of the game, stemming from each player controlling an identical deck of cards, but assigning a specific leader card to the deck that entirely alters how each card plays.  This allows for twenty-five different variations on the standard deck.  And don’t worry about picking these initially releases up in order, they are both stand-alone and can be played in any order.

The fifth large expansion for the Warhammer:  Invasion LCG card game, Hidden Kingdoms, fleshes out the remaining factions that have, up until now, not seen play in the game.  These include Skaven, Lizardmen, Wood Elves, and Undead, each of which has been built-up to a full faction.

The Mayan apocalypse may never have come, but that hasn’t stopped Tzolk’in from producing an expansion to end all expansions.  Tribes and Prophecies not only adds enough pieces to include a fifth player, but also alters the gaming experience entirely by allowing each player to take command of tribe leaders that grant them abilities beyond the normal selection.

Space is a vast and endless place, which means Rio Grand Games has plenty of universe to produce a fifth Race for the Galaxy expansion from.  Alien Artifacts adds a fifth playable deck onto the base game, as well as five additional start worlds.  Along with these extra pieces, the expansion contains another gaming mode where players map an alien “orb” searching for artifacts that gain them extra powers.

For the penultimate game item, Pathfinder, like a Pokemon trainer on a winning spree, continues to evolve their dragons.  This time around, it’s the Red Dragon Evolution set of miniatures.

And, basically, that’s kinda it…

Anyway, the ‘verse is never done offering up rewards for determined, swindly captains, especially ones experienced in Breakin’ Atmo.
