-Jacen Burrows, artist on Crossed and Moore’s previous two Lovecraft miniseries, rejoins the writer to finish off their trilogy.

-Fans of crime fiction like True Detective and Se7en should take a look at Sons of the Devil.

-Brian Buccellato, one half of the former writing team on The Flash, launches this new series at Image!

-A young man discovers through tragedy that his family has ties to a cult, ties that may be resurfacing to strangle him.

-In order to uncover his dark past, the protagonist will have to venture into the country’s dark underbelly.

Starlight #1

-Mark Millar, creator of Kick-Ass, Wanted, Jupiter’s Legaacy, and Civil War, unleashes another Image Comics original!

-Think of Starlight as a post-modern Flash Gordon, dissecting the tropes of the character and genre.

-Duke McQueen is an old man.  But in his younger years he saved the galaxy more times than you can count.  Now, after retiring and losing his beloved wife, Duke is called back into action one more time.

-Goran Parlov, famous for his long run on Punisher MAX with Garth Ennis, joins Millar to lend a Joe Kubert-esque vibe to this space opera.

Avatar the Last Airbender “The Rift Part 1″

-The Avatar gang adventures continue after the Last Airbender cartoon series!

-Toph rejoins the group in this new three part epic!

-Evil forces interrupt a revived Airbender festival tradition, causing Aang and his friends to go on the offensive, eventually venturing into the spirit realm to defeat their foes.

-The third in a series of post-cartoon Avatar comics, The Rift bridges the time gap between Last Airbender and Legend of Korra.

Magneto #1 

-Magneto is a changed man, but maybe not for the better.

-How does Magneto, formerly the world’s most feared mutant, go about gaining some of that prestige back?  Well, the simple answer is:  by doing bad things.

-Cullen Bunn, local boy made good, has been delivering some wildly fun Marvel comics over the last couple years (Fearless Defenders, Deadpool Kills…, Night of the Living Deadpool) and now it’s time for him to blend that pure joy for the medium with the darkness of his creator-owned series, Sixth Gun.

-Bunn promises a blend of horror and noir in this solo revenge tale for the X-Men‘s most popular villain.

Moon Knight #1

-Basically Marvel‘s version of Batman, but three times the crazy because Moon Knight‘s sporting three separate personalities!

-One of Marvel‘s many unsung characters, any Moon Knight series promises to be a twisty, violent ride. . .

-. . .especially when it’s written by comic legend, Warren Ellis.  Ellis has created some of the most ingenious characters and premises in comic history, including The Authority, Planetary, Transmetropolitan, as well as runs on Astonishing X-Men and Hellblazer!

-Little is known about the plot of this series, but, in my experience, that indicates a story so wild and unexpected that they don’t want to spoil it.  Trust us, it’s the must buy Marvel book for the week!

-Dark Horse, who’ve managed the Terminator license for many years, are behind this epic maxi-series, promising quality work.

-Bridging all of the Terminator films together by jumping between past and future, The Final Battle will organize the universe in preparation for the release of Terminator 5 in the summer of 2015.

Ghosted v.1 tpb

-Heist movies collide with haunted house movies in this dark, horror series.

-Another in the long line of inventive, unique Image Comic ongoing series.

-A special team of seven specialists is hired by an eccentric, wealthy millionaire to steal a ghost from an especially haunted mansion.  Will they make it out alive?

-Due to the impressive sales of the first five issues, Ghosted has been extended to ongoing status, meaning that this mission is only the first step for this rag-tag band of thieves.

Inhumanity #1

-Spinning out of the events of the Infinity!

-Written by Matt Fraction, author of Hawkeye, The Invincible Iron Man, Five Fists of Science, and Fear Itself!

-Described as Game of Thrones for the Marvel Universe, Inhumanity will see Black Bolt and the other disparate houses of the Inhuman nation struggle with the rise in their population, a stress that will lead to battle.

Forever Evil #1 / Villain’s Month

-After the ending of Trinity War, America is in utter chaos thanks to certain outsider visitors.  And the villains are in charge!

-Geoff Johns and David Fincher do what they do best and construct the FIRST event miniseries since the start of the New 52.  Forever Evil is told from the bad guys’ perspective as the Justice League and most of the world’s other heroes are missing or dead!

-Kicking off the beginning of the miniseries (and commemorating the second anniversary of the New 52), every DC comic this month is villain-centric.  That means instead of Batman we get Joker, instead of Superman we get Zod, instead of the Justice League we get Darkseid.

-Each Villain’s Month issue comes in both special, collector 3D covers as well as standard 2D covers, and only with a dollar difference.

God is Dead #1

The Star Wars #1 (of 8

-Star Wars like you’ve never seen it before!

-Based on the original draft of George Lucas’ script (you know, back when he could write)!

-Forget Luke Skywalker.  Welcome Annikin Starkiller.  Forget human Han Solo.  Get to know the giant, green alien version.

-Knowing that this miniseries is a huge deal, Dark Horse have assigned artist extraordinaire Mike Mayhew, who’s painted style transformers the classic George Hildebrandt posters into comic form

Batman Black & White #1

-A Batman anthology series in the color palette the character deserves!

-Contains five stories, each in black and white, by a slew of popular and acclaimed artists and writers.

-If you’ve been keeping up with The Wake or Daredevil, you’ll want to check out Sean Murphy and Chris Samnee, respectively, offering their take on the Caped Crusader.

-Neal Adams, writer of Batman Odyssey, also contributes a story as both writer and artist.
