-Amanda Conner and her husband, Jimmy Palmiotti, will write this series in addition to the main Harley Quinn comic.

All New All Different Marvel December Part Daredevil #1

-You’ve watched and loved the original Netflix series, now pick-up the new ongoing Daredevil comic.

-Charles Soule (She-Hulk, Secret War Civil War, Swamp Thing, Death of Wolverine) takes over Daredevil, a perfect fit as Soule is an active attorney.

-Spinning out of the Secret War’s 1872 miniseries, Red Wolf #1 brings Marvel‘s only Cheyenne hero into the present day!  Nathan Edmondson of Punisher helms the series.

-For fans who are intimidated by the density of the Inhuman universe, Charles Soule launches All New Inhumans, a cop procedural-esque series that follows original Inhuman characters discovering and helping NuHumans.

-Fan favorite character Amadeus Cho is now officially The Hulk.  Er, excuse me, The Totally Awesome Hulk!

-Greg Pak, the writer behind the iconic Planet Hulk storyline, returns to write the series with Frank Cho on interior art duties.

-The Guardians of old (Vance Astro, etc.) join forces with the Guardians of new (Rocket, Groot, etc.) to form The Guardians of Infinity, written by Dan Abnett (who made the Guardians of the Galaxy who they are now) and Jason Latour (Spider-Gwen, Southern Bastards).

-Missing an all-ages, continuity free Spider-Man series?  Spidey #1 fills that niche, with one issue stories set during Spider-Man‘s early days as illustrated by Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men).

-Dennis Hopeless takes control of the X-Men universe with a new ongoing series!

-All New X-Men #1 delivers a very different team and tone from the flagship X-Men series, Extraordinary X-Men.

-Driven apart, the members of the All New X-Men (which include a mix of old teammates and new) have to reassemble after a major mutant terrorist attack.

The Valiant #1 (of 4)

-Over the last few years, Valiant has been gaining a reputation as one of the most inventive, original comic The Valiant #1publishers around.  If you haven’t read any Valiant comics, THIS IS THE ONE TO PICK UP!

-Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT, Rai) and Jeff Lemire (Green Arrow, Animal Man, Trillium) combine their writing talents for this prestige format miniseries with the intention of making this the Watchmen of Valiant!

-Starring a line-up of Valiant‘s most popular characters, The Valiant‘s four oversized issues will follow the The Eternal Warrior, an immortal being who protects the Earth, in his battle against an everlasting evil.  Problem is, The Eternal Warrior has lost three times before, each time slipping the world into a dark age.  Will he and his team of Valiant mainstays win this round?

-Exceptional artist Paolo Rivera (Daredevil, Amazing Spider-Man, Batman: Black and White) raises the bar with the series, as his smooth line and rich characters make this an epic not to be missed.

-John Bivens, an up-and-coming artist, provides interiors and covers for the series in a gorgeous style similar to work from Heavy Metal and Emma Rios’ sketchy style from Pretty Deadly.

-Sounding unlike any other series currently being printed, Dark Engine is about a time traveling killing machine sent back to the far, far past to kill her makers.

-Dragons, androids, jungle warfare, and more are promised for future issues in this ongoing series.

Batman/Superman #1

1. Hot on the heels of Superman Unchained, is another series celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Man of Steel, complete with a selection of variant covers featuring each of the titular characters as well as a Guillem March variant featuring both.

2. Greg Pak has jumped ship from Marvel to DC, leaving behind legendary runs on The Hulk (Planet Hulk, anyone?), in order to helm the a first series teaming of The Caped Crusader and Man of Tomorrow.

3.  Joining Pak on the book is Jae Lee, fresh off of a career defining run on Before Watchmen: Ozymandias, bringing a moody, shadowy portrayal of these characters unlike any you’ve seen before.

4. Taking place six  years before the present, Batman/Superman #1 relates the first time that Superman and Batman got teamed-up post-Darkseid in the New 52 universe.

Larfleeze #1

1. Feeling left out with all this Superman hoohaw going on, Larfleeze demanded DC give him his own ongoing series and they agreed to.  Mostly because he threatened to have Glomulus eat them.

3. Set in a future wasteland, Lazarus tells the violent tale of the last survivors of Earth, all of which have formed into distinct houses (like Game of Thrones), each of which steal from each other for survival.

Before Watchmen Hardcovers (Round One)

1. The first wave of dual story Before Watchmen hardcovers hits shelves this Wednesday.  And if you missed out on this shockingly stellar addition to the original Watchmen, now’s your time to gather them all up.

2. Taking place before Alan Moore’s medium redefining miniseries, the two volumes shipping this week feature The Minutemen, Silk Spectre, and Ozymandias.

3. The Minutemen/Silk Spectre volume features stories by comics icon, Darwyn Cooke.  He both draws and writes The Minutemen story in his notably golden age style, producing the closest approximation to the original Watchmen, in terms of dense narrative and complexity, in the entire line.  His Silk Spectre story is drawn by Amanda Conner in a style that can only be described as Archie Comics on ecstasy.

4. The second volume this week is Ozymandias/Crimson Corsair.  Brimming with pulpy pulp, this hardcover details the globe-trotting origins of the most brilliant man on Earth in the style of classic Doc Savage and Shadow stories.  Not only that, but the entire interlinking Crimson Corsair story and the Dollar Bill one-shot.
